Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional mobile development on iOS and Android.
• Proficiency in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin/Java (Android).
• Strong understanding of MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture.
• Proven track record shipping production apps for millions of users.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and data persistence technologies.
• Skilled at debugging, profiling, and performance optimisation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Mobile Application Engineer to lead the design and development of high-impact mobile applications. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of mobile architecture and best practices, a proven track record of shipping production apps that scale to millions of users, and a passion for building scalable, performant, and user-friendly applications.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will work across iOS and Android platforms, drive technical excellence, and collaborate closely with product and design teams to deliver world class mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

• Mobile app development— Design and develop native or cross-platform mobile applications (iOS/Android) using modern frameworks and best practices
• Technical architecture— Lead technical architecture decisions and establish coding standards to ensure scalability and maintainability
• Cross-functional collaboration— Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Performance optimisation— Optimise application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for faster load times and smooth user experience
• Testing & quality— Implement and maintain robust testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and automation
• On-call support— Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical issues with urgency and technical depth
• Technology & infrastructure— Stay current with mobile development trends and tools, and contribute to architectural planning that improves mobile infrastructure for future growth

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional mobile development experience on both iOS & Android
• Strong expertise in native language (Swift for iOS, Kotlin/Java for Android)
• Deep understanding of mobile app architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture) and design principles
• Proven track record of shipping production apps that scale to millions of users
• Experience with RESTful APIs, networking libraries, and data persistence technologies
• Proficiency in debugging, profiling, and optimising mobile applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly

What You'll Own / Deliver

• Mobile application architecture, coding standards, and technical roadmap
• iOS and/or Android feature delivery from design through to production release
• Application performance, stability, and the on-call response process
• Testing strategy and release quality across the mobile codebase

Good to Have

• Experience with cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter) is a plus
• Hands-on experience with security best practices in mobile applications
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and mobile app deployment processes
