Glan Management Consultancy in India seeks a Senior Merchandiser (Hardgoods Export) to oversee end-to-end sampling, resourcing and buyer management for new product development.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of hard-core export merchandising background from the Handicrafts Export Industry handling hardgoods.
• Hands-on ERP entries, strict vendor tracking, and rigorous quality check/inspection frameworks.
• Experience with off-price or volume discounter retail clients is advantageous.
• Capable of meeting deadlines in a strict 6-day work week environment.

Responsibilities

• Sampling & Resourcing: Lead new product development from CADs to vendor prototyping and feedback loops.
• Buyer Interface: Manage direct buyer correspondence, negotiate, finalize specs, and ensure PPM/Green Seal compliance.
• Operations & ERP: Oversee PO life cycles in ERP, verify costing matrices, and check TIP files within 5 days of PO.
• Vendor Coordination: Share branding guidelines, conduct twice-daily progress alignment calls, document notes.
• Quality & Shipping Logistics: Define QA parameters by SKU, schedule inspections, plan packing metrics for vessel bookings.
• Reporting: Log pipeline statuses via bi-weekly alerts and daily logs to management and HR.

Position Overview:

• The Senior Merchandiser (Hardgoods Export) will oversee the end-to-end process of sampling, resourcing, and buyer management for new product development.
• This role requires proactive coordination with designers, vendors, and buyers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality samples, efficient pricing negotiation, and comprehensive compliance execution in a structured 6-day work week environment (10:00 AM to 06:00 PM).

Key Responsibilities:

• Sampling & Resourcing: Lead new product development (Wood, Metal, Glass, Marble home dcor) from design CADs to vendor prototyping, proposal submission, and management feedback loops.
• Buyer Interface: Orchestrate direct buyer correspondence (10-15 offer emails monthly), run physically-attended client negotiation sessions, finalize spec sheets, and fulfill all Green Seal / Pre-Production Meeting (PPM) mandates.
• Operations & ERP: Oversee purchase order life cycles in ERP databases, verify detailed costing/PL matrices, and cross-check precise Technical Information Package (TIP) files within 5 days of PO receipt.
• Vendor Coordination: Share precise branding guidelines, drive strict twice-daily vendor progress alignment calls, and ensure internal production notes are legally signed and documented.
• Quality & Shipping Logistics: Formulate Quality Check parameters by SKU, map out inspection timelines with QC heads 7 days in advance, and finalize packing metrics (CBM) early to facilitate vessel/freight bookings.
• Reporting: Log critical pipeline statuses via bi-weekly buyer shipment alerts (Tuesdays/Fridays) and supply daily work logs directly to management and HR.

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of hard-core export merchandising background strictly coming from the Handicrafts Export Industry handling hardgoods (wood, metal, glass, marble, home accessories).
• Hands-on depth in handling commercial ERP entries, strict vendor tracking, and rigorous quality check/inspection frameworks.
• Strong background working with off-price or volume discounter retail clients (e.g., TJX / T.J.
• Maxx / Marshalls) is highly advantageous.
• Confirmed capacity to manage strict deadlines in a highly fast-paced 6-day operating environment.
