Overview
This role is designed as Hybrid with an expectation of working 2 days per week at an HPE office.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead multiple projects requiring mechanical and/or thermal development.
- Collaborate with peers, junior engineers, technicians and external design partners.
- Interact with high-level individual contributors, managers, directors and program core teams.
- Drive design innovation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 15 years experience in electro‑mechanical design, focusing on telco and/or networking products; minimum 5 years in telecom industry.
- Experience with sheet metal design and manufacturing processes for low‑ and mid‑volume production.
- Strong understanding of electro‑mechanical packaging, thermal, power, NEBS & EMI issues.
- Knowledge of high‑speed signal routing and large‑system installation in data center and telco environments.
- Proficient user of 3D solids modeling package; SolidWorks preferred; experience with EPDM is a plus.
- Experience performing tolerance analysis of complex systems and working knowledge of FEA.
- Fluent user of Agile or similar PDM tools and understanding of ECR process.
- Experience with IDF & ECAD‑MCAD transfer process is preferred.
- Proficiency in GD&T & FEA.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and local language.
- Ability to communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
