Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead marine infrastructure projects. You will perform analysis and design for ports, terminals, and related facilities, coordinating across multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical rigor, and delivering detailed drawings, cost estimates, and construction documentation for complex marine works. Flexibility in responsibilities is valued, with opportunities across global projects.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 8+ years’ experience with marine infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated technical and analytical skills.
• Experience in multidisciplinary projects and teams.
• Experience in structural design of marine structures (bulkheads, piers, berthing systems, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis and design for ports and maritime infrastructure across commercial, industrial, recreational and government facilities.
• Participate in structural and multi-disciplinary design, including finite element and high-resolution modeling.
• Provide analysis, design, and construction-phase tasks for ports and maritime facilities.
• Develop planning and design-level drawings, specifications and construction documents.
• Develop technical reports and specifications.
• Oversee design of junior engineers and BIM/CAD Modellers; mentor juniors.
• Prepare cost estimates during the design phase.
• Maintain attention to detail with a logical, creative problem-solving approach.
• Lead and motivate the team to achieve high performance; provide supervision and mentoring for direct reports.
• Identify opportunities for professional development and progression within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering analysis and design with a focus on ports and maritime infrastructure for commercial, industrial, recreational, and government facilities, including fuel/gas, container/ bulk, and cruise/ferry terminal layout and multi-disciplinary design management
• Participate in structural and multi-disciplinary design ranging from classical design and finite element, and high-resolution modelling analysis activities for a wide variety of marine projects.
• Providing analysis, preliminary, and detailed design, and construction phase tender and oversight tasks of ports and maritime facilities
• Develop planning and design-level drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Develop technical reports&specifications.
• Oversee the design of junior engineers andBIM/CADModellers.
• Mentoring of junior engineers
• Prepare cost estimates on projects during the design phase.
• Have a strong attention to detail, as well as having a logical but creative approach to problem solving.
• Problem-solving attitude with a high level of responsibility for assigned tasks and projects.
• Lead, inspire and motivate people in the team to achieve high levels of performance and excellence.
• Provide supervision and mentoring, identifying opportunities for professional development and progression along with specific line management responsibilities for designated direct reports.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Post-graduate degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 8+ years’ experience with projects related to marine infrastructure and terminal operations for commercial, industrial, and public use facilities
• Demonstratedstrongtechnical and analytical skills
• Working experience within multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
• Experience in structural design of marine structures such as bulkheads, marina floats, piers, boat ramps, linkspan, berthing and mooring systems; and/or marine terminal buildings, yards, aprons, etc.
