Responsibilities
- Perform engineering analysis and design with a focus on ports and maritime infrastructure for commercial, industrial, recreational, and government facilities, including fuel/gas, container/ bulk, and cruise/ferry terminal layout and multi-disciplinary design management
- Participate in structural and multi-disciplinary design ranging from classical design and finite element, and high-resolution modelling analysis activities for a wide variety of marine projects.
- Providing analysis, preliminary, and detailed design, and construction phase tender and oversight tasks of ports and maritime facilities
- Develop planning and design-level drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Develop technical reports & specifications.
- Oversee the design of junior engineers and BIM/CAD Modellers.
- Mentoring of junior engineers
- Prepare cost estimates on projects during the design phase.
- Have a strong attention to detail, as well as having a logical but creative approach to problem solving.
- Problem‑solving attitude with a high level of responsibility for assigned tasks and projects.
- Lead, inspire and motivate people in the team to achieve high levels of performance and excellence.
- Provide supervision and mentoring, identifying opportunities for professional development and progression along with specific line‑management responsibilities for designated direct reports.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Post‑graduate degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 8+ years’ experience with projects related to marine infrastructure and terminal operations for commercial, industrial, and public use facilities
- Demonstrated strong technical and analytical skills
- Working experience within multi‑disciplinary projects and teams.
- Experience in structural design of marine structures such as bulkheads, marina floats, piers, boat ramps, linkspan, berthing and mooring systems; and/or marine terminal buildings, yards, aprons, etc.
