• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development.
• Ability to manage large programs and multi-geo projects.
• Release manager for major software releases.
• Excellent communication skills; mentor/coach.
• BS in CS or EE, MS preferred.

Gigamon is looking for a strong Manager to lead our dynamic Gigasmart team responsible for architecting, designing, coding, and testing embedded systems functionality with a focus on innovative high-performance applications in network security technologies. The Manager will manage resources effectively to deliver commitments on schedule, cultivate a high-performing team, and constantly raise the bar. You will closely collaborate with peer development and QA teams, architecture, customer support, and product line management. As a key member of the engineering management staff, I contribute to the vision and strategy of continuous integration, improved development processes, and quality and productivity improvements.

What You Will Have

• 14-18 years (or more) of overall relevant industry experience and a track record of shipping core networking products for the enterprise and service provider markets.
• At least 5 years of experience as a first/second-line manager leading networking software development.
• Direct experience architecting, designing, and developing complex system/infrastructure software for Network Security technologies.
• Background in Software and Security SDLC with exceptional focus on continuous integration, delivery, and quality
• Strong proficiency in one of the programming languages, preferably C or C++
• Experience in L2/L3 layer protocols, TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, SSL, DPDK.
• Hands-on experience with multi-core, multi-threading systems
• Deep understanding of the full product life cycle, software development methods (both Agile and Waterfall), and development and build environments.
• Ability to undertake loosely defined goals or complex problems to create order and drive closure.
• Ability to organize, delegate, and effectively deliver large and complex programs.
• Ability to drive multi-geo projects by working effectively with remote teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, with a bias towards action and results.
• Manage major software release deliveries as a release manager.
• Conflict resolution skills, including the ability to bridge style differences.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills, both within the team and across the organization.

• BS in CS or EE, MS strongly preferred.
