Job summary

Salesforce seeks a talented, self-directed technical leader to manage software engineers on the IT Application Engineering and Operations team. You will drive end-to-end ownership of tools, systems, and applications supporting Finance and HR (Employee Success) at scale, collaborating across IT, Finance and HR to enable growth.

The role requires 12+ years in software engineering with leadership, experience in Workday/HCM or Financials, MuleSoft integrations, and a passion for engineering

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years in software engineering and operations with leadership track record.
• Experience delivering HR and Finance systems (Workday/PeopleSoft/Oracle EBS) end to end.
• Strong engineering management, people development, and stakeholder alignment.
• Proven ability to manage global teams across multiple time zones.

Role Description

Salesforce seeks a talented, self-directed, technical leader to manage software engineers on the Information Technology Application Engineering and Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of tools, systems, and applications that support the Salesforce Finance and HR (Employee Success) systems. You will collaborate with many teams across Information Technology, Finance and Employee Success (HR) to scale and enhance systems for the unparalleled growth of Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Hire and retain top engineering talent
• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Drive the implementation and adoption of best practices in software engineering, including Agile methodologies and continuous integration/delivery.
• Champion the utilization of MuleSoft and Workday integration solutions for Workday Financials or Workday HCM, leveraging its capabilities to streamline business processes and enhance efficiency.
• Oversee end-to-end support, operations and enhancements for Workday Financials or Workday HCM and their integrations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status updates effectively.
• Occasional travel is involved

Experience/Skills Required

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering & operations, with a proven track record of leadership and project delivery in Finance and HR Systems such as Workday / Peoplesoft / Oracle EBS in end to end Hire to Retire cycle or Finance business processes.
• Strong understanding of engineering management principles, including team leadership, performance management, and talent development.
• Experience managing vendor partners and teams extended with contractors
• A keen eye for Innovation, Engineering / Operational Excellence, and Test Automation
• Worked on project delivery in Workday Human Capital Management and/or Financial Transformation
• Experience in HR domain (Hire to Retire, Talent Foundations, Total Rewards, Global Time & Absence, Payroll) OR in Finance (Record to Report, Source to Pay, Plan to Perform)
• Experience in multiple Integration technologies like MuleSoft and Workday integrations (Studio, Orchestrations, etc.)
• Experience managing global team working out of multiple time zones
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with agile/scrum methodology
