Job summary

Nike Inc. in India seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow high-performing software teams within the SCPT program. You will champion engineering hygiene, drive DevOps practices, and deliver enterprise-scale solutions in a global context.

Lead full-stack teams, guide architectural decisions across AWS, Databricks, and planning SaaS platforms, and mentor engineers to foster a high-performance culture. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of professional experience with minimum 5+ years in management of software engineering teams.
• Strong focus on engineering hygiene: code quality, test automation, observability, documentation, security, and operational excellence.
• Led full-stack DevOps teams including development, testing, and operations.
• Directly managed and developed engineering teams of 10+ people with coaching and performance management.
• Hands-on with distributed/cloud environments (AWS and Databricks) and modern web tech (Java, Rest, Python) with NoSQL and relational databases.
• Preferred: experience with planning SaaS platforms such as o9, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, or SAP APO / SAP IBP.
• Experience in at least one supply chain domain area with hands-on S/4HANA or SAP AFS.
• AI-first mindset: Gen AI, AI/ML, and agentic tools to solve business problems.
• Strong understanding of agile principles, Scrum, and product model delivery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to align diverse technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop multiple engineering teams focused on SCPT platforms and solutions.
• Set technical direction and drive architectural decisions for large-scale SAAS and cloud-based systems (AWS, Databricks, o9, SAP APO, Teradata).
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Principal Engineers, and cross-functional partners to deliver business value and align on enterprise-wide tech strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across global locations; ensure clarity and effective communication.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture; support career development and performance management.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, automated testing, agile methodologies, and AI-first approach (Copilot, Cursor).

You will be a part of the larger Global Technology organization working on Nike’s internal Supply Chain and Planning Technology (SCPT) and reporting to the team’s Engineering Director. You will work day-to-day with a team of engineers, the team’s Product Manager and Principal Engineers in the organization on software projects to achieve Nike’s business objectives. You will also engage with other Global Technology functions and teams on organizational and technical goals

We seek an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow high-performing software engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a passion for developing people, and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale solutions in a fast-paced, global environment. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

12 to 15 years of professional experience, with minimum 5+ years management experience of high performing software engineering.

Must have a strong focus on engineering hygiene and the ability to establish, influence, and guide teams in adopting sound engineering practices, including code quality, test automation, observability, documentation, security, and operational excellence.

Demonstrated experience leading full-stack DevOps teams, including development, testing, and operations.

Must have demonstrated experience directly managing and developing engineering teams of 10 or more people, including coaching, performance management, talent development, and building high-performing team cultures

Hands-on experience with distributed/cloud-based environments (AWS and Databricks) and modern web technologies (Java, Rest, Python), and both NoSQL and relational databases.

Preferred: Practical experience with leading planning SaaS platforms such as o9, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, or SAP APO / SAP IBP.

Must have experience in at least one supply chain domain area, such as demand planning, manufacturing, supply planning, inventory planning, deployment planning, or distribution requirements planning, along with hands-on experience in S/4HANA or SAP AFS.

Must have a proven ability to adopt and champion an AI-first mindset, applying Gen AI, AI/ML, and agentic tools and technologies to solve business problems and drive measurable impact.

Strong understanding of agile principles, Scrum, and product model delivery within large portfolios.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse technical and business audiences.
