Job summary

Petronas Lubricants is seeking an experienced QC and Laboratory Operations leader in Panvel to oversee end-to-end QC functions, ensure material and product testing, and drive ISO and PETRONAS quality standards across manufacturing operations.

The role includes leading continuous improvement initiatives, managing budgets, and coordinating with global teams to resolve quality issues and support product industrialization. 10+ years in chemical QC with leadership exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical laboratory and quality control functions.
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within a lubricant, additive, or specialty chemical QC laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end QC laboratory operations and provide quality assurance support to plant operations.
• Ensure inspection, testing, and approval of incoming raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products.
• Implement and maintain global Quality IMS standards and laboratory best practices.
• Establish and maintain laboratory infrastructure, utilities, equipment, safety systems, and testing capabilities.
• Drive product traceability and quality control systems across the manufacturing process.
• Manage QC CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
• Support manufacturing operations through quality monitoring and batch deviation assessments.
• Review and maintain active BOMs in SAP and validate formulation usage.
• Support new product industrialization and raw material qualification/revalidation activities.
• Establish systems for approval and disposal of non-conforming materials.
• Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct vendor quality audits and manage supplier quality performance.
• Coordinate with global quality teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE, ISO 14001, PIAQA, and PETRONAS quality standards.
• Lead EARA, JSA, safety reporting, and closure of action items.
• Drive Full Potential, 5S, WCM, KAIZEN, IMS audits, My Assurance, and SAP initiatives.
• Develop business continuity and contingency plans for laboratory operations.
