Job summary

Piramal Pharma Ltd is seeking a Senior Manager-Program Management to lead presales and proposal activities across API development and manufacturing. You will coordinate with Process R&D, Analytical, QA/QC, SCM, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Technology Transfer teams to ensure technically sound and commercially viable bids.

The role demands strong project management, MS Excel costing, and effective client communication to drive timely submissions and profitable proposals.

Qualifications

• Coordinate and oversee proposal development to meet client needs.
• RFP/RFI responses with cross-functional teams (Process R&D, Analytical, QA/QC, SCM, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Tech transfer).
• Develop and finalize commercial proposals for tech transfer, custom synthesis, route scouting, kilo-lab, and scale-up programs.
• Create costing models with finance and operations; craft competitive pricing strategies.
• Support client calls, respond to technical and pricing questions, and follow up.

The increasing volume of proposal requests necessitates dedicated presales support to effectively manage the growing workload and ensure high-quality proposal submissions to meet the business needs of Organization

Key Responsibilities

• RFP/RFI Response Coordination:
  • Review and analyse client RFP/RFI requirements.
  • Draft and manage proposals in alignment with cross-functional teams (Process R&D, Analytical, QA/QC, SCM, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Technology transfer, Process engineering - etc) ensuring technical and commercial alignment with client needs.
• Proposal Development:
  • Prepare and finalize commercial proposals for Tech transfer, custom synthesis, route scouting, kilo-lab, and scale-up programs.
  • Incorporate project timelines, cost sheets, milestones, and risk mitigations.
• Costing & Pricing:
  • Work closely with finance and operations teams to develop accurate costing models.
  • Ensure competitive yet profitable pricing strategies based on internal capabilities and market benchmarks.
• Client Interface Support:
  • Provide proposal-related support during client calls, discussions, and follow-ups.
  • Clarify technical and pricing queries from clients and internal stakeholders.
• Process Improvement:
  • Maintain a repository of previous proposals, costing templates, and case studies.
  • Optimize proposal templates and workflows to improve turnaround times and quality

Key Competencies

• Strong understanding of API and intermediate development life cycle – from route scouting to commercial manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CDMO/CRO business models, regulatory requirements (ICH, FDA, EU, etc.), and quality systems.
• Proficiency in proposal writing, technical documentation, and business presentations.
• Excellent project management, time management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities for both technical and client-facing communications.
• Hands-on experience with MS Excel (for costing), PowerPoint, Word, and CRM tools.

Desirable Experience

• Prior experience working in CDMO/CRO for APIs, intermediates, or NCEs.
• Experience with global pharma client interactions (EU/US/Japan).
• Knowledge of confidentiality agreements, MSAs, and commercial terms.
