DISH Network Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking a senior engineering leader to architect internal platforms, own multi-cloud lifecycle management, and mentor managers across locations.
You will drive an AI‑first culture, enforce high engineering standards, and align with Security and Application teams to scale complex software platforms.
Candidates bring hands-on Python/JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Golang, Kubernetes, AWS, and experience steering product ownership in Agile environments.
Architecture, Software Engineering, & AI Innovation
Platform Transformation: Pivot the team’s capabilities from writing localized scripts to architecting and owning resilient, from-scratch microservices platforms.
Technical Bar Raising: Focus mentorship on elevating IC capabilities, guiding engineers to master advanced software patterns, clean code principles, and robust platform architecture.
Pragmatic AI Leadership: Foster an AI-first culture within the engineering workflow. Guide the team to critically evaluate AI use cases for automation, identifying where AI accelerates delivery versus where it introduces structural pitfalls, security liabilities, or operational overhead.
Engineering Standards: Introduce and enforce high-quality software engineering principles, robust design patterns, code quality metrics, and rigorous test automation frameworks.
Agile Governance: Serve as the Product Owner for internal infrastructure and security delivery platforms; manage the roadmap, drive sprint planning, and execute precise backlog grooming.
Lifecycle Operations: Oversee the end-to-end operational workflows (build, distribute, track, and end-of-life deprecation) for compute instances spanning public cloud and diverse on-premises/hybrid environments.
Stakeholder Alignment: Interface closely with internal Security and Application teams to translate operational friction points into highly scalable platform integrations.
Management Guidance: Provide strategic coaching and structural guidance to frontline engineering managers as individuals transition from IC roles into team leadership.
Critical Thinking: Instill a culture of systemic problem-solving, ensuring the team designs for long‑term scalability across multi‑cloud and hybrid environments.
Cross-Location Management: Successfully lead and align engineering performance across a distributed, two-location team structure.
Proven experience leading software engineering or platform engineering teams with an emphasis on building internal platforms from scratch.
Strong architectural background in microservices architectures and modern application delivery.
Hands‑on proficiency and code‑review‑level familiarity with Python and JavaScript / TypeScript / React.
Strategic vision or experience steering teams toward Golang and Kubernetes‑native development.
Deep operational experience managing infrastructure lifecycles across public cloud (AWS) and diverse on‑premises/hybrid environments (e.g., VMware, virtualized compute platforms).
Architectural Mentorship: Proven track record of upskilling DevOps/SysAdmin teams into disciplined software and platform engineers capable of handling complex software architecture.
AI‑First Competency: Strong conceptual and practical understanding of AI/ML integration in engineering workflows, with the ability to critically audit AI use cases for technical viability and pitfalls.
Demonstrated track record of acting as a Product Owner or working deeply within Agile/Scrum frameworks to manage backlogs and roadmaps.
People Leadership Maturity: Experience directly managing engineers, with the demonstrated capability to coach, onboard, and guide new or intermediate engineering managers.
