Overview
The Senior Manager – Investments will play a pivotal role in originating, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities in listed corporate bonds. This role requires ownership of the end-to-end investment process—from business development and financial due diligence to negotiations, deal execution, and investor placement support. As a senior member of the investments team, the candidate will contribute to expanding leadership in fixed-return investment products, working closely with corporates, NBFCs, brokers, and internal stakeholders to deliver value to retail investors.
Responsibilities
- Senior member of the team which originates, evaluates and executes investment opportunities in Listed Corporate Bonds. This role encompasses end-to-end responsibilities for making an investment.
- Undertake business development activities either through (a) direct outreach to corporates and NBFCs seeking to raise debt capital and/ or (b) via network of brokers, bankers and arrangers.
- With the support of colleagues in credit, lead the detailed deal evaluation including financial analysis, sensitivity analysis, management discussions, compliance and reference checks.
- Lead negotiations with the counterparty on commercial terms, covenants and other term sheet clauses.
- Present the investment opportunity to the Investment Committee and accordingly fine tune deal evaluation and deal commercials.
- Project manage the execution of approved deals including legal documentation, external rating exercise and stock exchange approvals.
- Support relationship managers with marketing materials for placing this deal via our online/ offline platform.
Qualifications / Skills
- 3-5 years of experience on a fixed-income, corporate finance or business development in a financial services company. An ideal candidate would have worked at a Bond Desk with a Debt Broker
- Previously worked in investments in the fixed-income space or involved in evaluating Corporate Bonds.
- Understanding of credit risk management, financial analysis, due diligence etc.
- Superb communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder/people management skills (both internal and external)
