Flight Centre Travel Group's FCM Travel India is seeking a Senior Manager – Finance to lead end-to-end financial management, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, ensuring accurate reporting and strong controls. Based in Noida, you will partner with key business stakeholders and drive continuous improvement in finance processes.

You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, balance sheet governance and working capital management, delivering timely management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CA / CPA / ACCA / CIMA would be preferred.
• Strong experience in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Experience managing balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, provisions and intercompany accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting principles.
• Experience working with global finance teams / shared services / GCC environments would be advantageous.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365 or similar.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills; experience with Power BI or other reporting tools is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership, stakeholder management and process transformation.

Day in the life:

The Senior Manager – Finance / Finance Controller will be responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end financial management and accounting operations, with primary ownership of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.

The role will ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, strong financial controls, compliance with accounting policies, and effective delivery of management reporting. The role will partner closely with business stakeholders, corporate finance and other functional teams to provide financial insights, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement across the finance function.

You’ll be perfect for the role if you have:

1. Financial Close & Month-End Management

• Own and manage the end-to-end month-end close process, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Establish and maintain a robust month-end close calendar, including clear ownership, timelines and dependencies.
• Review and oversee:
• General ledger activities
• Journal entries and adjustments
• Accruals and prepayments
• Revenue and expense recognition
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• Fixed assets and depreciation
• Provisions and reserves
• Bank and other key account reconciliations
• Review month-end results and identify unusual movements, variances and accounting issues.
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are appropriately reconciled and supported.
• Drive timely resolution of open items and aged balances.

2. Financial Reporting & Management Accounting

• Prepare and review monthly financial reporting packs for senior management and business stakeholders.
• Provide analysis of actuals versus budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Develop meaningful variance analysis and commentary covering key movements and business drivers.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting.
• Ensure financial information is accurate, consistent and aligned with accounting policies.
• Provide financial insights to support business and operational decision-making.

3. Financial Control & Governance

• Establish and maintain a strong financial control environment across the FAMA function.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls and applicable accounting standards.
• Review key financial processes and identify control gaps and operational risks.
• Implement appropriate controls to minimise financial, compliance and operational risks.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and evidence for key financial controls.

4. Balance Sheet & Working Capital Management

• Take ownership of the balance sheet review and governance process.
• Ensure balance sheet accounts reconciled, substantiated and reviewed on a regular basis.
• Monitor aged and unusual balances and drive timely resolution.
• Review working capital movements and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for provisions, accruals and other estimates.

5. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support the annual budgeting and financial planning process.
• Coordinate periodic forecasting and reforecasting activities.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand financial drivers and assumptions.
• Analyse budget versus actual performance and provide recommendations to management.
• Support long-term financial planning and scenario analysis.

6. Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key finance business partner to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
• Work closely with FAMA, FP&A, business finance, operations and corporate finance teams.
• Partner with business leaders to understand financial performance and operational drivers.
• Communicate financial results and complex accounting matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with global finance teams and key internal stakeholders.

7. Process Improvement & Transformation

• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, quality and scalability of finance processes.
• Drive standardisation and automation of repetitive finance activities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual intervention in month-end close and reporting.
• Implement process improvements to improve close timelines, data quality and control effectiveness.
• Support finance transformation and technology initiatives such as ERP, reporting and automation projects.
• Establish and monitor relevant finance process KPIs.

8. Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead, coach and develop the FAMA team.
• Establish clear objectives, responsibilities and performance expectations.
• Build strong technical accounting and financial management capabilities within the team.
• Conduct regular performance and development discussions.
• Ensure appropriate succession planning and cross-training within the team.
• Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
