Zebra Technologies in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead a data science team focused on IIoT and ML-driven solutions. What We're Looking For:

The data science team is responsible for creating data science driven algorithms for IoT machine and business system data to be used for various commercial solutions, internal process improvements and customer engagements. The team applies broad knowledge of company’s product and solutions as well as the machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to create cutting edge data driven solutions. As the Senior Manager, Data Science, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of proprietary machine learning algorithms and techniques to solve business problems and optimize our customer and partner experience. You will also be responsible for recruiting, mentoring and managing a team of data scientists and data science supervisors. This role is both strategic and technical in nature and requires meaningful industry experience. As a Senior Manager, Data Science, you will be responsible for enriching our products, services and solutions value proposition. This includes increasing the profitability of existing products, building data analytics solutions for our customer and partners, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your knowledge of innovation in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and machine learning space.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working with data sets of varying degrees of size and complexity, including both structured and unstructured data.
• Implementing real-time model scoring to drive actions.
• Determine continuous improvement opportunities of current predictive modeling algorithms.
• Analyze, review and track trends and tools in analytics and make build/buy/partner recommendations.
• Maintain data science research cluster and track costs associated.
• Mentor, guide, and develop Data Scientists within the team.
• Drive innovation by fostering open, high energy, collaborative environment; led participation in innovation summit and expos, recommend relevant training and conference for employees to attend, publish papers and patent disclosures.
• Travel as needed to visit customers, partners, attend seminars, trade shows or meet area sales personnel.

Implementation Delivery Experience:

Prior success delivering enterprise data-driven software solutions, preferably within complex Retail, CPG, or Supply Chain environments.

Broad Forecasting & AI Literacy:

Practical understanding of diverse forecasting methodologies (from classical statistical models to machine learning and foundational time series AI), including the use, validation, and integration of Generative AI models paired with robust human-in-the-loop (HITL) governance.

Client-Facing Technical Leadership:

Act as the primary technical interface for clients. Lead scoping workshops and translate complex engineering pipelines and forecasting models into clear, high-impact business concepts.

Team Leadership:

Proven track record of managing and upskilling a cross-functional team of Data Engineers and Data Scientists, bridging the gap between raw data preparation and advanced predictive modeling.

Release & Code Quality Ownership:

Own the adherence to best practices related to code repository structure, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines within the deployed software stack. Enforce strict standards for code reviews, unit testing, and production-grade software delivery.

Software Delivery & CI/CD Expertise:

Strong experience managing Git repositories, code-review protocols, unit testing, and building software-level CI/CD pipelines.

Capability Building:

Mentor and train the team on implementing both advanced forecasting methodologies (statistical time series, machine learning, neural networks, foundational models) and efficient software engineering patterns.

Databricks Solution Architecture:

Architect and govern scalable, cost-optimized solutions on Databricks utilizing Delta Live Tables (ETL), Unity Catalog (governance), and MLflow (model management).

Databricks Ecosystem Mastery:

Deep architectural expertise in PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and MLflow as the core engine for software deployments.

DevOps & Infra Collaboration:

Partner with the dedicated DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure team to seamlessly align software-level release pipelines with underlying cloud environments.
