Job summary

Diageo India Pvt Ltd. is seeking a Senior Manager – Data Integration to lead the design, implementation and transition of SAP S/4HANA data extraction to Azure Data Lake.

The role bridges SAP functional teams, data engineering, analytics and system integrators to deliver a scalable data architecture. You will manage extractor changes, data models and governance, ensuring continuous reporting and analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of experience in SAP Data & Analytics environments.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Proven experience implementing SAP-to-Azure data integration solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of data extraction strategies from SAP S/4HANA into Azure Data Lake.
• Define migration and replacement strategies for ECC to S/4HANA.
• Design and manage extraction mechanisms: CDS Views, ODP, SAP Extractors, SLT, Datasphere integrations, Data Intelligence.
• Define approaches for real-time, near real-time, and batch replication.
• Manage end-to-end data movement from S/4HANA into Azure Data Lake; collaborate on ADF, Synapse, Databricks.
• Ensure scalable, secure data ingestion pipelines with governance and quality.
• Coordinate with SAP functional teams, data engineering, analytics, and SI partners.
• Plan data migration, testing, cutover, and risk mitigation activities.

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead the design, implementation, and transition of data extraction and replication processes from SAP S/4HANA to Azure Data Lake as part of our enterprise S/4HANA transformation program. The role will be responsible for managing changes to SAP extractors, data structures, replication frameworks, and data pipelines while ensuring continuity of business reporting, analytics, and downstream data consumption. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between SAP functional teams, data engineering teams, analytics stakeholders, and system integrators to deliver a robust and scalable data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• S/4HANA Data Extraction & Replication
  • Lead the design and implementation of data extraction strategies from SAP S/4HANA into Azure Data Lake.
  • Assess existing SAP ECC/BW extractors and define migration and replacement strategies for S/4HANA.
  • Design and manage extraction mechanisms including: SAP CDS Views, ODP (Operational Data Provisioning), SAP Extractors, SLT (SAP Landscape Transformation), SAP Datasphere integrations (where applicable), SAP Data Intelligence/Data Services.
  • Define approaches for real-time, near real-time, and batch data replication.
• Azure Data Lake Integration
  • Manage end-to-end data movement from S/4HANA into Azure Data Lake.
  • Collaborate with Azure Data Engineering teams on: Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Event-driven architectures, Delta Lake frameworks.
  • Ensure scalable, performant, and secure data ingestion pipelines.
• Data Model & Table Transition Management
  • Analyze impacts of S/4HANA simplification on source tables and data structures.
  • Identify changes between ECC and S/4HANA data models, including: Universal Journal (ACDOCA), Material Ledger, Business Partner Model, Inventory Management changes, Procurement and Sales table changes.
  • Define source-to-target mapping and transformation logic.
  • Govern transition of legacy tables and custom extractors to S/4HANA-compatible structures.
• Data Governance & Quality
  • Establish controls to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation between SAP and Azure environments.
  • Define data validation, monitoring, and exception handling processes.
  • Support data lineage, metadata management, and audit requirements.
  • Partner with Data Governance teams to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
• Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Work closely with: SAP Functional Teams, SAP Basis Teams, Data & Analytics Teams, Azure Engineering Teams, System Integrators, Business Reporting Teams.
  • Manage delivery from implementation partners and third-party vendors.
  • Drive issue resolution and decision-making during migration and cutover phases.
• Program Delivery Support
  • Plan and execute: Data migration activities, Testing cycles, Mock conversions, Dress rehearsals, Cutover activities.
  • Identify risks and dependencies related to data integration and reporting continuity.
  • Develop transition plans from legacy extraction frameworks to S/4HANA-based architecture.
