Job summary

Global Payments in Pune is seeking a Senior Manager, Applications System Development to own the delivery of business-critical software and align technical direction with product roadmaps.

You will lead a cross-functional team of developers, QA and support engineers; drive agile, DevOps, and security practices; manage budgets and stakeholder communications; and guide multiple large initiatives across Scrum teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Senior Manager, Applications System Development

As a manager at Global Payments, you will take ownership for the delivery of business critical products. We are looking for someone to manage a delivery team that can lead innovation, drive improvements, set technical direction, and consistently meet the needs of the business.

You will:

Manage technical talent acquisition, growth and retention

Work with product and key stakeholders to set desired product roadmaps

Drive critical improvements to stay ahead of the growing business needs

Evaluate new technologies and delivery practices

Drive accurate and efficient project estimates

Create project plans, identify dependencies and risks, and allocate resources

Develop capacity plans and skills assessments

Stay up to date on the latest security threats and secure application design and coding practices

Manage third party consultants

Lead the design, craftsmanship, availability, resilience, security and scalability of your solutions

Foster a culture to stay on top of technology trends and participate in technology communities

Encourage innovation, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

Lead and mentor a team of development, quality assurance, and support engineers

Simultaneously drive multiple large initiatives potentially across multiple scrum teams

Prepare and present technical presentations and project status

Provide required information for the annual budget

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 12 or more years of total experience in software development using java and/or Microsoft.net technologies
• 3 or more years of experience in managing software engineering professionals
• High proficiency in applying agile methodologies in software development
• High proficiency in applying modern DevOps and QA practices
