Job summary

Expedia Group in Bengaluru seeks a senior analytics leader to join the Yield & Analytics organization. You will recruit, manage and lead a high-performing team, own and develop an advanced customer reporting suite, and provide actionable insights for stakeholders.

You will coach team members in statistical techniques, machine learning, and big data handling, partner with product and engineering, and communicate findings to senior leadership with clear storytelling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master’s, PhD in Mathematics, Science, Statistics, Economics or equivalent related professional experience is applicable.
• 9+ years of experience in a similar analytical role.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with ability to structure, transform and analyze large data and adapt to new frameworks/languages.
• Strong visualization (Tableau or equivalent) and experience developing advanced reporting for senior leadership (including C-suite).
• Display a passion for data and analytics with strong commercial awareness.
• Drives significant and sustained change and performance improvement from data-driven insights across multiple areas.
• Experience partnering with senior management and collaborating with other teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Strategy) to deliver projects.
• Experience developing and delivering presentations that help others understand insights from sophisticated analytics.
• Ability to perform in a high-pressure, dynamic environment with ambiguity.
• Hands-on experience with AI and willingness to standardize/automate key processes.

Introduction to the Team

The Yield & Analytics organization serves as the analytics center of excellence for our two-sided marketplace. We deliver data-driven insights that support a scalable, profitable, and high-quality marketplace for travelers, partners, and Expedia alike. Our work spans technically complex problem spaces, from deep-dive analysis to experimentation to machine-learning-informed product development.

In this role, you will:

• Recruit, manage and lead high performing team
• Own and develop advanced customer reporting suite and actionable insights in a scalable way
• Coach and develop your team to apply advanced analytical techniques, statistical knowledge, machine learning, and big data handling skills to support our commercial stakeholders’ decision-making.
• Use your creativity and business acumen to translate business problems into structured analytical questions, and choose the most appropriate methodologies to answer these questions.
• Own the relationships with business stakeholders and cross-functional Analytics teams, and work autonomously to prioritise and execute on the most impactful projects
• Influence partners and senior leaders through communicating across various levels of the organization using clear and compelling storytelling and presentations
• Prioritise multiple tasks and workstreams simultaneously and own projects end to end

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master’s, PhD; Mathematics, Science, Statistics, Economics degree; or Equivalent related professional experience is applicable
• 9+ years of experience in a similar analytical role
• Strong Python and SQL skills with demonstrated experience to structure, transform and analyze large data, and a willingness to learn new frameworks and languages required for the task
• Strong visualization (Tableau or equivalent) and experience developing advance reporting suite to senior leadership (including C-suite) audiences
• Display a true passion for data and analytics as well as possessing a strong commercial awareness.
• Develops and drives significant and sustained change and performance improvement from data driven insights in a number of different areas or contexts
• Experience partnering with senior management and collaborating with other teams (eg. Product, Engineering, Strategy etc) to deliver projects
• Experience of developing, and delivering, presentations that help people understand the insight from sophisticated analytics
• Ability to perform in a high-pressure, dynamic environment and be comfortable with a high level of ambiguity.
• Hands-on experience with AI and willingness to standardize/automate key processes
