Job summary

Standard Chartered India is seeking an experienced AML/CDD professional to drive the client onboarding platforms and account opening framework for Business Banking. You will design systems, define target operating models, and lead policy implementation.

You will collaborate with CFCC teams, ensure timely regulatory compliance, and manage risk across multi-country onboarding operations, while promoting first-time-right execution and strong governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or diploma in Banking/Finance required.
  • 6+ years experience in banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of KYC, AML, and client onboarding.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design of AML/CDD systems and operating models for business banking.
  • Ensure timely implementation of CDD procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with CFCC teams to align policies for onboarding.
  • Coordinate cross-country CDD operations and governance forums.
  • Develop and monitor risk controls and DOIs adherence.

  • Responsible to drive priorities on superior client experience on areas related to Client Onboarding platforms, account opening framework for Business Banking segment.
Job Summary
  • Responsible to drive priorities on superior client experience on areas related to Client Onboarding platforms, account opening framework for Business Banking segment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Play a pivotal role in designing of AML/CDD systems, processes, target operating model, training and control monitors on a sustainable basis for business banking.
  • Provide leadership in ensuring the CDD procedures are implemented within the timelines communicated to the Regulators/ internal FCC colleagues. The destination system should be fit for purpose for the Business Banking segment.
  • Work with senior CFCC colleagues to ensure polices are fit for implementation
  • Be the interface for CDD operations in countries for execution in compliance with regulations and the bank’s internal procedures
  • Responsible for the risk framework for business banking. Execute the risk related documents like ORA, RIR as per the required timelines.
  • Responsible to ensure that key stakeholders and governance forums are kept up to date on key issues and resolution plans and overall progress on risk issues of business banking.
  • Support countries on issues and risk resolutions arising from CDD perspective, audits, risk reviews etc.
  • Facilitates communication and information sharing across teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment to the relevant AML/CDD policies and procedures
Strategy
  • Ensure uniform approach towards implementation of Global Target Operating Model and adherence to DOIs.
Business
  • Provide quality support and advice to CDD operations on all policy/procedure related AML/CDD matters with regard to business banking.
Processes
  • Provide support in the roll-out of Global Group CDD standards for Business Banking clients.
  • Understand and transform the global policy into process and system requirements working with stakeholders across business divisions, compliances teams and operational areas.
  • Own and drive execution of processes, working closely with stakeholders and countries.
  • Adheres to first time-right principles.
  • Provide insight and suggestions to improving processes, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate. Looks at ways to promote standard work and best practices.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties and when delegated by Line Manager.
  • Escalate or enforce compliance requirements and follow any other relevant internal controls and procedures as they relate to process, products, policies and regulations.
People & Talent
  • Develop and implement a personal learning plan with team manager, to attain necessary competencies.
  • Successfully complete milestones as laid out in implemented personal learning plan.
Risk Management
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role remit.
  • Comply with applicable Money Laundering Prevention Procedures and report any suspicious activity to the operational risk team and Line Manager.
  • Ensure a clear and uniform approach towards implementation of the global operating model and adherence to DOIs.
  • Report any deviation (if any) to appropriate authorities and obtain proper dispensations.
  • Proactively manage risks and establish/monitor controls to improve the overall state of the risk management and operating framework.
Governance
  • Ensure strong due diligence and data confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with the internal and external policies, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Undertake periodic self-assessment on key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls.
  • Highlight significant issues/errors to team leader.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

Qualifications
  • Any Diploma/ bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in Banking, Financial and/ or services
  • 6+ years of experience; preferably in Banking/ Financial services
  • Experience in KYC, Customer Due Diligence, AML, or similar regulatory initiatives Excellent and strong knowledge in Client Onboarding/ Processing functionality
  • Highly developed written communication skills, including a proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate interactions with stake holders
  • Strong ability to positively influence stakeholders across value chain to both orchestrate and execute processes.
  • Problem solver; looks for solutions and finds ways to progress despite blockages.
  • Strong drive to deliver.
  • Excel in Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision multi-tasking and able to cope with pressures from tight deadlines.
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge would be an added advantage
