Job summary

Taggd in Mumbai is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer to own technical strategy, yield improvements, and drive plant-wide technology transfers. The role requires hands-on leadership in process optimization and a strong manufacturing background.

You will optimize unit operations including Heat Transfer, Distillation, Mixing and Filtration, lead end-to-end improvements, and advance energy-efficient digital transformation with plant automation. Travel Pan-India is required.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years post-qualification experience in chemical process engineering.
• Experience on the manufacturing floor is mandatory.
• Strong background in Process Engineering, NPD, or Technology Transfer.

Responsibilities

• Define technical strategy to identify best cost technology and yield improvements with R&D and Operations.
• Perform rigorous assessments of unit operations (Heat Transfer, Distillation, Mixing, Filtration) to optimize cycles and energy.
• Lead end-to-end technical improvements from scheme/POC to site execution.
• Evaluate energy-efficient technologies and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders for adoption.
• Collaborate with EHS to upgrade facilities and automate handling of hazardous chemicals.
• Join cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues due to process deviations.
• Drive digital transformation using Plant Automation and Digital tools to upgrade processes.

Job description

Key Responsibilities (What You Will Own):

• Technical Strategy: Identify Best Cost Technology (BCT) & yield improvement opportunities, collaborating with R&D and Operations to implement action items at site.
• Process Intensification: Conduct rigorous technical assessments of critical unit operations—including Heat Transfer, Distillation, Mixing, and Filtration—to optimize time cycles and energy efficiency.
• Project Implementation: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of technical improvements—from developing process schemes/POCs, vendor identification, and CER preparation to final site execution.
• Technology Evaluation: Assess and trial energy-efficient alternate technologies, managing cross-functional stakeholders for seamless adoption.
• EHS & Sustainability: Partner with the EHS department to identify improvement projects, upgradation of ETP facilities, and drive initiatives for safer handling/automation of hazardous chemicals.
• Quality & Collaboration: Participate in Cross-Functional Teams (CFT) to resolve recurring quality complaints rooted in process deviations.
• Digital Transformation: Leverage experience in Plant Automation and Digital tools to upgrade current processes.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering (Mandatory).
• Experience: 8 to 12 years of post-qualification experience.
• Core Background: Must come from a strong background in Process Engineering, New Product Development (NPD), or Technology Transfer. Experience on the manufacturing floor is non-negotiable.
• Soft Skills: Agile, proactive, and an excellent communicator. Must be willing to travel extensively across Pan-India to support various sites.
• Preferred: Candidates with hands-on experience in Plant Automation and Digital initiatives will have a distinct advantage.
