Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior M365 Design Engineer to join our Microsoft 365 Design Team, responsible for designing, governing, and optimizing enterprise-scale M365 solutions. The ideal candidate should bring deep, hands-on and design-level expertise across Microsoft 365, and be capable of independently driving architecture decisions, design reviews, and solution governance. This is a design and solution ownership role, not an operational or admin-only position.

Key Responsibilities
  • M365 Solution Design & Architecture Microsoft TeamsLead end-to-end design of Microsoft 365 solutions across: SharePoint Online & Define enterprise architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices for M365. Own information architecture, site structuring, metadata strategy, and taxonomy design.
  • SharePoint Online (Primary Focus) Design modern SharePoint solutions including: Communication Sites, Team Sites, Hub Sites &Enterprise document management solutions Retention labels, sensitivity labels, and compliance controlsDefine and govern: Permission models and access strategies, Microsoft Teams & OneDriveSupport integration of SharePoint with ECM and other enterprise platforms. Define Teams architecture: Teams and channels structure Lifecycle and governance models Establish best practices for: Collaboration using Teams OneDrive usage, sharing, and external access controls Support and guide migration and adoption strategies to M365.
  • Governance, Security & Compliance Strong understanding of: M365 security and compliance capabilities Data protection, audit, and policy enforcement Work closely with security and compliance stakeholders to ensure enterprise-ready designs.
  • Design Leadership & Collaboration Act as a design authority during solution design reviews and architecture discussions. Engage with: Business stakeholders Platform and operations teams Vendors and system integrators Mentor junior designers and review solution artifacts.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially: SharePoint Online,Microsoft Teams,OneDrive for Business
  • Strong experience designing enterprise-scale M365 solutions and Solid understanding of: Governance models Permissions and access control &Compliance and information protection
Experience Level

7+ years of overall IT experience 5+ years in Microsoft 365 with design / solution ownership responsibility Experience operating at a Senior Engineer / Design Lead / Solution Designer level

Good to Have

Power Platform exposure (Power Automate, Power Apps) Experience with large M365 migration programs Hybrid or multi-tenant M365 experience Microsoft certifications related to M365 or SharePoint

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm
