Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) seeks a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer to help build and operate high-performance data capture systems for global capital markets. You will automate provisioning, optimize Linux performance, and manage containerized deployments using Docker/Podman in production environments.

The role requires strong scripting, Git-based workflows, and cloud familiarity with AWS/S3, plus willingness to work US Eastern hours during training and occasional weekends for deployments.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of professional experience with Linux (RHEL or derivatives).
• 5+ years of experience with Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Significant Ansible experience for automation and provisioning.
• Proficiency in Linux server architecture, performance and latency tuning.
• Experience deploying and managing containerized apps using Docker/Podman in production.
• Strong data copy, scheduling tasks and Linux daemon management.
• Experience with deployments and OS updates including risk mitigation.

Current strategic pursuits

The Senior Linux DevOps Engineer will be responsible for high-performance data capture systems. We have the mission of "Capturing, Storing and Transforming" the world's capital markets data. In this critical role, you’ll be an integral member of a team managing the data pipeline that flows between each of those stages.The role has a large operational component while also requiringsomeone to envision future growth in both utilization and technology selection for the components of work.

Work qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of professional experience with Linux, preferably RHEL or RHEL derived distributions (CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux)

• 5+ yearsof experience with scripting language s Bash and/ or Python

• Significant experience using Ansible to develop and maintain playbooks and roles to automate server provisioning and configuration management

• ProficiencywithLinux and an understandingof Linux server architecture and operation including performance and latency tuning

• Experience d designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications using Docker, Podman or other containerization technology in production environments

• Should beverycomfortable with data copying, schedulingtasks and Linux daemons

• Extensive experience withapplication deployments and OS updates, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies for potential failures

• Experience with Git-based version control systems, such as GitLab and/or GitHuband managing pipeline in these products

• Basic networking knowledge and ability to interpret Wireshark/tcpdump capture output

• Experience with AWS, S3, AWS CLI,and Rsync

• English proficiency isrequired

• Must be willing to work US Eastern hours for the first 6 months duringinitial training

• Must be willing to work on some weekends when neededfor deployments

Nice to haves, but not required

• Knowledge of US and International market data

• Experience working with multicast-based market data distribution
