Job Summary

The Senior Linux Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Linux-based systems across enterprise environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in Linux system administration, automation, networking, and performance tuning, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities

• System Administration:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and kernel tuning.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability.
• Infrastructure Networking:
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancers, and VLAN configurations.
  • Troubleshoot networking issues and optimize system connectivity.
  • Support storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions (e.g., NetBackup).
• Automation DevOps:
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Use configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Security Compliance:
  • Implement system hardening and security best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI, HIPAA, or other regulatory standards.
  • Manage SSL certificates, SIEM tools, and access controls.
• Project Team Collaboration:
  • Lead infrastructure projects and provide architectural guidance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers and network engineers.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and incident response.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals, networking, and storage.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).

Preferred Certifications

• RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)
• RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
• ITIL, CEH , or other relevant certifications
