Job summary

Mandala is seeking a Senior Lighting Designer to lead projects from concept through completion. You will guide teams, collaborate with clients, architects, consultants and contractors, and uphold design intent and technical quality in documentation, mock-ups, execution and commissioning.

Based in New Delhi, this full-time studio role offers opportunities to advance Mandala's lighting design practice across diverse spaces, with occasional project travel.

Qualifications

• A minimum of four years of relevant architectural lighting-design experience
• Strong design judgement, technical understanding and leadership ability

• Clear communication and a consistent commitment to design quality

We are looking for a Senior Lighting Designer to join our team.

The role

This role is for an experienced lighting designer who can hold both the design intent and the project together from early concept through completion.

You will lead projects, guide teams and work closely with clients, architects, consultants and contractors. You will be expected to make considered design decisions, resolve technical and site challenges, and maintain the quality and continuity of the work through documentation, mock-ups, execution, aiming and commissioning.

About Mandala

Mandala is an independent, award-recognised lighting design studio established in New Delhi in 2006 by Manav Bhargava. Working with electric light and daylight, we approach light as a quiet narrative layer that shapes how spaces are felt, remembered and understood.

Our work spans architecture, urban environments, cultural and heritage spaces, hospitality, residences and artistic interventions. Each project brings together contextual thinking, creative inquiry and technical rigour, carrying ideas from concept through execution.
