Job summary

Coupa in Bengaluru is seeking a senior .NET architect to lead architectural strategy and guide the evolution of monolithic systems into microservices. You will be hands-on, driving design reviews, setting engineering standards, and shaping the long-term technical direction for the .NET team.

You will own AI integration, scale and resilience, and collaborate with globally distributed teams while promoting CI/CD and TDD across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise software development.
• At least 2 years leading engineering teams.
• Experience with multi-tenant web apps, background jobs, messaging.
• Strong data modeling across SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficient with TDD and enterprise testing practices.

• Architectural Strategy: Architect and develop one or more major areas of Coupa’s SaaS products, guiding how monolithic systems evolve into microservices.
• Technical Leadership: Act as a hands‑on lead, driving code/design reviews, establishing engineering standards, and defining the long‑term technical direction for the .NET team.
• AI & Innovation: Lead the backend integration of LLMs, vector search, and AI platform tooling directly into core business spend capabilities.
• Scale & Resilience: Address database bottlenecks, coordinate complex background job execution, and ensure high‑availability system designs as we scale.
• Agile Advocacy: Cultivate a modern DevOps model with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) and automated testing (TDD).

Requirements

• Experience: 10+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise‑grade software development, with a minimum of 2+ years of dedicated team leadership experience.
• Core Technical Skills:
  • Backend & AI: Advanced .NET Core proficiency with practical experience designing/integrating LLMs and modern AI ecosystems.
  • Architecture: Proven success managing massive, multi‑tenant web applications, background job queues, and asynchronous messaging platforms.
  • Database Mastery: Advanced data modeling across SQL and NoSQL database layers.
  • Discipline: Passion for Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and enterprise testing practices.
