Job summary

American Express in Gurugram, India, seeks a Balance Sheet Assurance professional to manage research and clearance-based accounting and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for merchant payments and related processes. Qualifications

  • B.com with 3-6 years or MBA/post grad with 2-4 years of work experience.
  • US GAAP knowledge and Audit experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and other data applications like Cornerstone, TM1 will be preferred.
  • Well-developed analytical skills, ability to understand the linkages to processes.
  • Demonstrated Accounting expertise.
  • Ability to think innovatively and to pursue ideas with conviction.
  • Excellent team player with strong Inter-Personal skills and communication skills
  • Demonstrate leadership skills needed to create, develop and communicate with diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • This Band 28 role will manage research and clearance-based accounting and reconciliation of B/sheet accounts for merchant payment related processes which includes spend and non-spend merchant transactions.
  • Month-on-Month trend analysis to identify any anomaly in general ledgers, preparing journals, metrics analysis, managing queries from key stakeholders, and support ongoing/upcoming business and technology initiatives including any enterprise-wide project.
  • Maintain financial integrity of all merchant processes.
  • Drive self and team goals with continuous focus on process improvement.
  • Ensure operational resilience through knowledge retention and building back-ups in the team.
  • Proactively highlight, communicate and mitigate risks.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leaders across the organization and build relationships.
  • Contribute to team strategy and long-term plans.
  • Manage multiple projects to support enterprise goals.
  • Coordinate with technology for development / automation opportunities.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.com with 3-6 years or MBA/post grad with 2-4 years of work experience
  • US GAAP knowledge and Audit experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and other data applications like Cornerstone, TM1 will be preferred.
