Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. in Jaipur, India is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to develop and maintain backend services for distributed billing and account management systems. You will own feature development, bug fixes, and reliability improvements.

The role requires 4+ years of Java and Spring Boot, GraphQL with Netflix DGS or Apollo, event-driven architectures, and strong Spring Data JPA. You will work with MySQL/Aurora, Kafka or RabbitMQ, and CI/CD in a fast-paced, globally oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend engineering with Java and Spring Boot 3 in production.
• Experience with GraphQL APIs via Netflix DGS or Apollo Java/Kotlin client.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven distributed systems using AWS SQS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Strong JPA/Hibernate and Spring Data JPA with MySQL/Aurora including transactional design.
• Proficient with unit/integration testing (JUnit 5, Mockito) and Gradle multi-module builds.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Datadog for monitoring.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to develop and maintain backend services for distributed billing and account management systems.

The mandatory requirements are 4+ years of Java and Spring Boot experience, GraphQL with Netflix DGS or Apollo Java/Kotlin Client, event-driven systems, and strong Spring Data JPA and CI/CD experience.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of hands‑on backend engineering with Java and Spring Boot 3, building production microservices.
• Senior level with demonstrated ownership of production services in a distributed‑systems environment.

NICE TO HAVES

• Prior experience in the Billing or Payments domain.
• Experience with DynamoDB (AWS SDK v2) and/or MongoDB (Spring Data) in a multi‑store architecture.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and maintain backend Java/Spring Boot services, contributing feature development, bug fixes, and reliability improvements across billing and account management services.
• Solve problems involving transactional consistency, event-driven correctness, notification reliability at scale, and safe multi‑entity migrations for advertisers globally.
• Keep advertiser billing accounts accurate, compliant, and synchronized across multiple datastores (MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB) and external platforms (Zuora).
• Deliver production-ready features and bug fixes through GitLab CI, ensuring unit and integration test coverage meets JaCoCo quality gates.
• Strengthen system reliability through improved observability, resilience patterns, and safe canary and production deployments gated by Datadog monitors.
