Barclays Global Services Centre in Pune seeks a Senior Integration Engineering Lead to drive the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines. You will lead hands-on engineering across Python, AI/GenAI, ML, Cloud, API, and Data Engineering to build scalable, enterprise-grade platforms while embedding engineering excellence across the organization.

You will mentor teams, shape API and integration strategies, and partner with stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performance solutions

Job Description Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions. To be successful as a Senior Integration Engineering Lead, you should have experience with: A highly hands on engineering leader who combines deep expertise in Python, AI/GenAI, Machine Learning, Cloud, API, Infrastructure, and Data Engineering with strong stakeholder engagement, delivery leadership, and the ability to build scalable, enterprise-grade platforms while driving engineering excellence across the organization. Strong hands on experience developing enterprise applications and integrations using Python, AI/GenAI, Machine Learning, automation frameworks, intelligent workflow solutions. Proven expertise in designing, developing, and supporting APIs, microservices, and integration platforms. Strong experience with cloud-native technologies, preferably AWS, including deployment, monitoring, scalability, and operational support. Some other highly valued skills may include: Experience integrating with third-party/vendor platforms and managing secure external connectivity. Exposure to Experience within Financial Services, Risk, Fraud, Economic Crime, Cyber Security, or Regulatory Technology domains. Experience with Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) and enterprise data product consumption models. Good knowledge of Data Engineering concepts, data ingestion, transformation, and integration patterns. Exposure to Databricks, PySpark, Starburst, Athena, Snowflake, Iceberg, or modern data technologies. You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
