Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior HR Executive to manage the full spectrum of Human Resources functions at our plant operations. This is a hands-on HR Generalist role that will be pivotal in supporting our manufacturing workforce, ensuring compliance, and driving HR best practices to align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for all plant employees, addressing queries, grievances, and disciplinary issues in a fair and timely manner.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment through proactive communication and employee engagement initiatives (e.g., surveys, events, and recognition programs).
  • Conduct internal investigations as necessary, maintaining confidentiality and meticulous documentation.

2. Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for plant operations staff (both blue-collar and supervisory roles), including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and making offers.
  • Collaborate with department managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Oversee a structured and effective onboarding and induction process for all new plant hires.

3. Performance Management and Development

  • Implement and manage the plant's performance appraisal system, ensuring timely reviews and effective goal setting.
  • Identify training and development needs for the plant workforce and coordinate relevant training programs, focusing on technical skills, safety, and soft skills.
  • Support career development planning for high-potential employees.

4. Compensation, Benefits, and HR Administration

  • Manage and process the monthly payroll inputs for plant staff, workers and contract worker, ensuring accuracy and timely disbursement.
  • Administer employee benefits and leave management programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (both physical and digital) and HR database.
  • Generate regular HR metrics and reports for management review.

5. Statutory Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with all local and national labor laws, factory acts, and statutory requirements relevant to plant operations.
  • Liaise with government authorities and internal compliance teams for audits and inspections.
  • Collaborate with the EHS to reinforce HR's role in promoting a strong safety culture and manage compensation claims related to plant incidents.

6. General Administration

  • Handle all general administrative tasks related to plant operations, including facilities management, canteen, vendor coordination and office supplies.
  • Manage the security of the plant premises and oversee administrative staff.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA/PGDM in HR) is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of dedicated HR Generalist experience, with a significant portion spent supporting plant operations or manufacturing environments.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Indian Labor Laws and factory compliance requirements.
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven experience with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and sensitive employee matters with discretion.
    • Proficiency in the local language spoken by the plant workforce is highly desirable.
