Job summary

Arthamandapam Advertising in Chennai is seeking a senior graphic designer to own the visual output for multiple brands across print, digital, and event collateral. This is a senior individual-contributor role with mentoring responsibility over junior designers.

You will lead multi-page layouts in InDesign, ensure typography consistency, and manage pre-press files while coordinating with printers under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of graphic design experience in advertising/creative agencies or studios.
• Expert in multi-page layout and typography for print and digital.
• Proven skill handling Tamil fonts (Unicode and legacy) with clean typesetting for print and screen.
• Strong portfolio showing brand campaigns across industries.
• Knowledge of print production and pre-press processes.

About the Role

Own the visual output for multiple brands across print, digital and event collateral, at agency standard and agency speed. A senior individual-contributor role with mentoring responsibility over junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design across the full spectrum: campaign key visuals, social media creatives, brochures, catalogues, event branding, hoardings, packaging and publication layouts.
• Take a brief from concept to final print-ready or platform-ready artwork independently.
• Set and enforce typography, layout and brand-consistency standards across all client work.
• Handle multi-page layout work in InDesign books, magazines, catalogues, annual reports.
• Prepare accurate pre-press files: bleed, trim, colour separation, CMYK conversion and printer coordination.
• Manage multiple brand accounts simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Review junior designers' work and guide them on craft and execution.

Required Technical Skills & Mandatory Experience

• 10+ years graphic design experience, majority within advertising agencies/creative studios serving multiple brands. In-house-only or freelance-only backgrounds do not qualify.
• Adobe InDesign expert level, non-negotiable, with demonstrable multi-page layout work.
• Expert command of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Proven skill handling Tamil fonts — Unicode and legacy (Bamini / TAM-TAB / TSCII), kerning, line-break behaviour, font conversion, clean Tamil typesetting for print and screen. Core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
• Strong portfolio showing brand campaign work across several industries.
• Working knowledge of print production and pre-press.

Preferred / Good to Have

• Experience designing for Tamil publications, books or regional media.
• Motion / basic After Effects capability.
• Experience mentoring or leading a small design team.
