Job summary

Workato is seeking a Senior Golang Engineer to design and build scalable backend services and API infrastructure for its automation platform. You will collaborate with product, UI, connectivity, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to deliver high-performance solutions for complex engineering challenges.

The role emphasizes deep technical leadership, performance optimization, and staying current with emerging technologies to drive reliable, scalable systems used by enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing production applications with Golang.
• Strong experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems.
• Strong understanding of Go concurrency patterns — goroutines, channels, context management
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented and idiomatic Go design principles
• Experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, HTTP, gRPC, and messaging systems.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and caching technologies including Redis or Memcached.
• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a broad audience and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience writing unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Contributions to Open Source projects are a plus.
