Job summary

Dar, the founding member of the Sidara group, is a global multidisciplinary consulting firm specializing in geotechnical services, design reviews, planning and project management. This Senior Geotechnical Engineer role requires leadership on complex projects and mentoring junior staff.

You will supervise investigations, develop design parameters, review reports, and coordinate with clients/contractors to resolve technical issues, ensuring compliance with international standards.

Qualifications

• 10 to 18 years of Geotechnical/Senior Geotechnical Engineer experience in a reputed Engineering Consulting firm.
• Strong technical background with a broad range of project experience.

Responsibilities

• Strong technical capability with geotechnical services: planning subsurface investigations, reviewing reports, determining design parameters.
• Knowledge of MSE wall design and international codes/standards.
• Proficiency with common geotechnical software and client/contractor meetings to resolve design/construction issues.
• Excellent organizational ability, report writing, and verbal communication are essential.
• Experience in supervision, guidance, development, and mentoring of junior staff.
• Previous project management experience is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and lead small to large projects.

Responsibilities/ Skillsets:

• Strong technical capability with Geotechnical related services such as planning subsurface investigation, reviewing geotechnical factual reports and determining the geotechnical design parameters, shallow/deep foundation design, excavation support systems, slope stability analysis, ground improvement techniques, etc.
• Knowledge of MSE wall design
• Good exposure to international codes and standards
• Proficiency with common geotechnical software.
• Attending technical meetings with Clients and Contractors to solve any design, construction or other technical issues, including value engineering exercises, and answering Client and/or Contractors queries and comments.
• Excellent organizational ability, report writing, and verbal communication are essential
• Experience in supervision, guidance, development, and mentoring of junior staff
• Previous project management experience is highly desirable
• Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail; proven track record leading and successfully completing small and large - scale projects
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems

Requirements:

• 10 to18 years as a Geotechnical/Senior Geotechnical Engineer position in reputed Engineering Consulting firm.
• Should have strong technical background with a broad range of project experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A university degree in civil (geotechnical) or geological engineering from an accredited university. PhD in Geotechnical field will be an added advantage.
