Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with GenAI experience to build AI-powered applications for a major US insurer. You’ll work end-to-end across modern React/Next.js frontends and Python/FastAPI backends, connecting AI agents to enterprise systems on Microsoft Azure.

The role emphasizes hands-on GenAI features, prompt engineering, and API design (REST/GraphQL). You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable microservices and robust test automation.

Qualifications

The role combines strong fullstack engineering with practical work on LLMs, agents and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build responsive, high-performance user interfaces with React.js and Next.js, using Hooks, SSR / ISR and API Routes.
• Develop user experiences for GenAI features, such as AI assistants, chat interfaces, streaming responses and agent-driven workflows.
• Design and develop backend services and microservices in Python using FastAPI.
• Build MCP servers using FastMCP to expose enterprise data and tools to AI agents.
• Integrate LLMs and AI models into applications, applying prompt engineering, tool/function calling and structured outputs.
• Design, implement and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs between frontend, backend and AI services.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to model and manage application data.
• Deploy and run applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Write automated tests across the stack using Jest, Pytest and Cypress.

Must have

• Strong proficiency in React.js and Next.js, including Hooks, SSR / ISR and API Routes.
• Solid backend experience in Python using frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience building MCP servers with FastMCP.
• Practical experience building or integrating AI agents and LLM-based features into applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure for deploying and running applications.
• Experience with REST / GraphQL API design and integration.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, TypeScript and modern build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack, Turbopack).
• Working knowledge of Git.
• Exposure to microservices architecture.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Pytest and Cypress.
• Experience with Generative AI, including AI models, prompt engineering and AI-assisted development tools.
• Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher English, with the ability to communicate directly with US-based stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience building GenAI applications in insurance or financial services.
• Experience with OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude or Azure OpenAI APIs.
• Familiarity with RAG, vector search and LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph).
• Experience with frontend AI tooling such as the Vercel AI SDK.
• Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions and AKS.
• Familiarity with AuthN/AuthZ (OAuth 2.0, Entra ID) and compliance requirements for PII in regulated industries.
