Job summary

NXP is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to deliver ISO26262/IEC61508 compliant safety Platform and IP solutions for automotive and industrial products. You will define safety requirements, manage SEooC lifecycle, and support SoC integration with safety assumptions.

You will perform FMEDA/FTA/DFA fault injection analyses and contribute to safety processes, roadmaps, and collaboration with internal and external IP teams to ensure ISO26262 compliance.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of ISO26262 and IEC61508.
• Experience in complex SoC and IP development compliant with ISO26262 Part11.
• Experience with safety audits/assessments.
• Proven track record of leading IP subsystem or SoC functional safety development through all lifecycle phases.
• B.Tech in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline with at least 3years of relevant experience.

• Support the management of Platform and IP modules developed as SEooC throughout their entire lifecycle, collaborating with internal design teams.
• Prepare safety modules for functional safety assessment.
• Support SoC integration of safety Platform and IP, including implementation of IP assumptions of use.
• Perform safety analysis activities such as FMEDA, FTA, DFA, and fault injection.
• Contribute to the functional safety expert community to improve processes, safety features, and their marketing.
• Define Platform and IP safety features and roadmaps in line with functional architecture.
• Work closely with internal and external IP teams to define and deliver ISO26262‑compliant IP.
• Report to management on compliance status, gaps, and mitigation actions.
• Support SoC teams in integrating safety Platform and IP assumptions of use.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work cross‑functionally with internal and external teams.
