Job summary

DigiCert is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to join our Bengaluru team. You will lead end-to-end development of services and products in an Agile setup, focusing on production-quality Java code and automation of build, test, and deployment pipelines.

You will collaborate with product and technology peers, design scalable microservices, and work across cloud-native architectures using AWS, CI/CD, and IaC practices. A strong background in RESTful APIs and frontend concepts is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 6+ years building enterprise-grade software/services.
• Strong Java (Spring Boot) and Python familiarity.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Front-end basics with React/Angular/Vue.
• Unix/Linux experience 2+ years.

What you will do

• Lead the development of Services or Products as part of an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) team. Write, test, and debug production-quality code (primarily in Java, with some exposure to Python or other languages), and collaborate to get that code into production.
• 60% Focus : Developing, testing, and debugging production-quality code, primarily in Java, with some involvement in Python or other languages.
• 40% Focus : Lead the automation of the development workflows, including: Building with tools such as Ant, Gradle, and Jenkins. Testing with frameworks like JUnit and Cucumber. Deploying using tools like Ansible and Terraform. Maturing test methodologies through Automating around test environments/test data/building frameworks etc. Work with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Measure health and performance of the services you help build. Communicate with upper management, product team, your team, and other technology peers. Continuously learn new concepts and technologies and share with your team. Leverage and contribute to our evolving shared infrastructure. Make things better every.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Creating high-level product specifications and design documents.
• Providing the development team with architectural blueprints to follow.
• Guiding and assisting the development team throughout the process.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with coding or design.
• Ensure the final product is completely functional and meets requirements.
• Updating software solutions as required.
• Training and overseeing the activities of the members of the development team.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to determine software requirements and develop good working relationships.
• Actively leading the technical vision to success.

What you will have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade software and services.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java (Spring Boot preferred) and familiarity with Python or similar languages.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of frontend technologies (React/Angular/Vue) and full-stack development concepts.
• 2+ years of experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• 2+ years of experience designing and architecting complex, scalable systems.
• Proven experience as a lead engineer or designer on high-volume, distributed systems.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of database design and data modeling (SQL and NoSQL).
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas and influence decisions.
