Job summary

Optum is seeking a skilled software engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React. You will build and consume RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices, delivering scalable cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.

You will collaborate with architects, product owners, QA teams, and business stakeholders to ensure security, reliability, and operational excellence while contributing to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Service, AKS, Storage, Key Vault).
• Proficient in React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot and microservices knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React
• Build and consume RESTful APIs, GraphQL and microservices
• Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Participate in system design, code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation
• Ensure application security, reliability, and operational excellence
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing initiatives
• Leverage AI-powered tools and automation opportunities to improve development productivity and software quality

Required Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services such as App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, App Insights, etc.
• Experience with React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience using AI-assisted coding and testing tools
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging platforms
• Solid proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
• Solid understanding of software design principles, integration patterns, and application security
