Job summary

ZOCA in Bengaluru is seeking a frontend engineer with 4-6 years of experience who thinks like a product designer and builds like an engineer. You will own the surfaces our customers touch every day, delivering polished, shipped features often before a finished Figma file exists.

Responsibilities

• Build and own core product surfaces in React and TypeScript from sketch to production.
• Prototype directly in code to validate ideas before finalising designs.
• Refine typography, spacing, hierarchy, motion and micro-interactions.
• Design and grow the design system to keep the product coherent.
• Handle loading, empty, error, offline states across desktop and mobile.

The role

We are looking for a frontend engineer with 4-6 years of experience who thinks like a product designer and builds like an engineer. Someone who can take a rough idea and turn it into something real, polished, and shippable, often before anyone has opened Figma.

You will own the surfaces our customers touch every day, and you will have genuine say in how they look, move, and behave. This is not a role where tickets get handed down and pixels get pushed. You will help shape what we build, not just how it gets built.

What You'll Do

• Build and own core product surfaces in React and TypeScript, from first sketch to production.
• Prototype directly in code when an idea is still forming, so we can feel it before we commit to it.
• Craft the details that separate good from exceptional: typography, spacing, hierarchy, motion, and the small interactions people never consciously notice but always feel.
• Design and grow our design system, so the whole team moves faster and the product stays coherent.
• Handle the states most people forget: loading, empty, error, offline, and everything in between, across desktop and mobile.
• Treat accessibility and performance as first class concerns, not afterthoughts.
• Partner closely with product, design, and the founders to decide what is actually worth building.

What Exceptional Looks Like

• You have a portfolio of production frontend work you are genuinely proud of.
• Your React, TypeScript, and browser fundamentals are strong. You understand what is happening under the hood, not just which hook to reach for.
• You have taste. Typography, spacing, hierarchy, motion, and interaction craft come naturally to you, and you sweat the small stuff.
• You can design and prototype directly in code, and you are comfortable starting from a vague idea rather than a finished mockup.
• You have built data rich applications and know how to make complexity feel simple.
• You obsess over loading, empty, error, responsive, and mobile states, because that is where products earn trust.Accessibility and performance are always in the back of your mind.
• You have owned a design system, or you are ready to.
• Above all, you want to shape the product, not simply implement someone's Figma file.
