Job summary

Zumbach Electronic AG in Pune, India is expanding a software team and seeks a Senior Front-end / Full-stack HMI Engineer to design and develop web-based HMIs for industrial measurement and automation products.

You will work on dashboards, visualizations and a configurable HMI platform, collaborating with teams in India and Europe to deliver reliable, high-performance software for real-time data and device integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience developing software for industrial applications or industrial environments.
• Strong expertise in modern frontend development using React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design.
• Backend development experience using C++ or Python.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs, WebSocket services or similar communication technologies.
• Experience designing and developing industrial HMIs, dashboards or hardware-integrated software systems.
• Strong understanding of real-time data visualization, state synchronization, and user interaction design for industrial environments.
• Experience creating configurable or modular UI systems with dynamic layouts and component-based architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Senior Front-end / Full-stack HMI Engineer (Embedded & Industrial Systems)

Pune, India

As part of our continued growth, Zumbach Electronic is establishing a new software development team in Pune, India. We are looking for an experienced Senior Front-end / Full-stack HMI Engineer to design and develop modern web-based human-machine interfaces (HMIs) for our industrial measurement and automation products.

In this role, you will help shape the next generation of user experiences across our product portfolio, from high-speed embedded measurement devices to IPC-based process systems. Beyond creating intuitive dashboards and visualizations, you will contribute to a configurable and extensible HMI platform that allows users to customize their own workflows, views and operating environments.

Working closely with software, systems and product teams in India and Europe, you will develop solutions that combine modern web technologies with industrial-grade reliability, performance and usability.

About the Role

• Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable and well-structured code.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:

• Industrial communication technologies such as OPC UA, MQTT or ZeroMQ.
• Embedded Linux or real-time software environments.
• Additional frontend frameworks such as Vue or Svelte.
• Database design and integration.
• Data visualization frameworks for charts, analytics and real-time plotting.
• Cybersecurity considerations for device-hosted web applications.
• Familiarity with the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) or related secure development practices.
