Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a skilled Accounting/Finance BI professional in Mumbai to support Power BI reporting and data validation. You will liaise with the US Financial Analytics team to ensure accurate data models and timely reporting for the accounting function.

The role involves collaborating with the US and India teams to troubleshoot production issues, build ad-hoc reports, and maintain data models. Strong Power BI and FP&A experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce/Accounting & Finance or IT/CS; 9–12 years accounting and/or data analytics experience.
• Master's degree is an added advantage (7–10 years for M-Tech).
• Strong functional understanding of reporting tools (Power BI, Excel).
• Data analytics experience in FP&A in a data-driven organization or industry.
• Able to analyze and solve problems independently using Power BI to collect, transform, model, visualize and share data.
• Demonstrates ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• SQL and/or business analyst experience is a plus.
• Alteryx experience would be an added advantage.
• Robust analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivation and good organizational/leadership skills.

Description

Candidate will be a member of a team that builds and maintains Power BI and reporting solutions, supporting the Accounting/Finance department. This team works closely with the US Financial Analytics team to ensure data models and related reports are being reported accurately and timely. Candidate is responsible for working collaboratively with team members (US & India) to build, troubleshoot, and fix production issues related to financial data models and Power BI reports. Primary areas supported include (but not limited to) Power BI build and support, financial report preparation, and data validation.

• Oversee and support day-to-day system maintenance and production support for data models and Power BI workspaces.
• Oversee the development and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities, define analytics requirements, and drive data-driven decision-making.
• Communicate insights and recommendations to leadership to inform strategic planning and business initiatives.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data analytics.
• Assist US team in building ad-hoc Power BI reports and workspaces.
• Provide development and testing support.
• Perform data validation and tie-out exercises in support of testing new/existing project financial data models and enhancements.
• Produce reports and visualizations to communicate visuals and interpretation of trends for business.
• Adheres to Power Bl and financial best practices across all process reporting deliverables.
• Assist US team with formatting and documentation for new report builds.
• Follows documentation standards for all deliverables.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce/ Accounting & Finance or Information Technology or Computer Science (or similar) 9-12 year of experience in accounting and/or Data Analytics.
• Master's degree will be an added advantage. (7-10 years of experience for M-Tech)
• Strong functional understanding of available reporting tools (Advanced Power Bl, Excel, etc.)
• Data Analytics experience in FP&A preferred in a data-driven organization or industry.
• Able to creatively analyze and solve problems independently, experience of using Power Bl to collect, transform, model, visualize and share data.
• Demonstrates capability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.
• SQL and/or business analyst experience a plus.
• Alteryx experience would be an added advantage.
• Robust analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated and good organizational and leadership skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
