Job summary

Willis Towers Watson in Gurugram, India, is seeking a qualified accounting professional to lead financial close activities and IFRS 17 implementation for insurance clients. You will collaborate with regional finance teams to map CoA, validate outputs, and drive accuracy across client reports.

Ideal candidates bring 4-6 years in insurance finance, strong project management, and experience with SUN/SAP/Oracle.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant or equivalent with 4-6 years of work experience.
• Experience in Insurance life or P&C industry.
• Knowledge of IFRS 17 and insurance financial statements.
• Knowledge of SUN, SAP or Oracle accounting systems.
• Strong project management skills.
• Understanding of IFRS 4 and related finance processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with accounting workstream leads to finalize requirements with regional and central finance teams.
• Understand client disclosure tables and CoA and map to WTW output files.
• Align client CoA with WTW accounting requirements during integrations.
• Bridge client trial balance with WTW CoA to achieve a single company-level CoA.
• Design financial closing reporting processes and controls under IFRS 17.
• Support UAT testing for financial reporting and validate mappings against ResQ FR and RAFM outputs.
• Assist clients in building management information systems and financial analytics framework.
• Perform ad hoc tasks and adhere to project timelines.

The Role

• Coordinate with the accounting workstream leads on the client side to ensure implementation requirements for finance are understood and solutions is finalized in discussion with regional and central finance teams of WTW
• Understand client disclosure tables and CoA and ensure mapping is done with WTW output files
• Understand client technical accounting specifications and clarify WTW accounting positions and ensure client CoA are aligned with WTW accounting requirements at the time of integrations
• Work with clients to ensure their local accounting trial balance are bridged with WTW CoA to drive a single company-level CoA
• Designing financial closing reporting processes and relevant reporting controls under IFRS 17
• Support UAT test cases for financial reporting and provide comfort that financial mapping and outputs match with the output tables of ResQ FR and RAFM
• Support clients in building management information systems and financial analytical framework
• Perform ad hoc tasks as and when required
• Adhere closely to project timeline and elevate issues in a timely manner

Qualifications

The Requirements

• Qualified Accountant or Equivalent qualifications with at least 4-6 years of work experience
• Experience in Insurance life or P&C Industry
• Knowledge of IFRS 17 and insurance company’s financial statements
• Knowledge of SUN, SAP, or Oracle Accounting systems is an advantage
• Good project management skills
• Good knowledge of the finance function, its organization, processes and systems, and current accounting practices under IFRS 4
• Flexibility in responding to the changing business environment and desire for continuous improvements
• A proven track record of establishing and sustaining strong client relationships and good interpersonal skills
