Job summary

BiteSpeed in Bengaluru, India is seeking a hands-on Finance Controller to own end-to-end controllership and day-to-day financial operations.

You will partner with the CEO, leadership, auditors, banks, and external partners to scale our treasury as we grow from $10M to $50M ARR, ensuring statutory compliance, cash flow forecasting, vendor payments, payroll, and audit readiness in a fast‑paced SaaS startup.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in core controllership, accounting, or finance operations.
• Hands-on experience managing AP, AR, cash flows, compliances, audits, and vendor payments end-to-end.
• Comfortable working with outsourced partners while owning final accountability.
• Experience with SaaS accounting or startup environments is a strong plus.

About the role

This role is about safeguarding and scaling a fast-growing treasury. As we move from $10M → $50M ARR over the next few years, we’re looking for someone who can bring strong controllership discipline early, and help build a finance backbone that scales cleanly with the business.

You’ll own end-to-end controllership and day-to-day finance operations, working closely with the CEO, leadership team, auditors, banks, and external partners. This is a hands-on role where you’ll go deep into numbers, processes, and compliance — not just review from a distance.

What you’ll do

• Own end-to-end controllership and financial operations, including day-to-day accounting, vendor payments, refunds, collections, and reconciliations.
• Manage Accounts Payables & Receivables, ensuring timely vendor payouts, accurate invoicing, and efficient cash collections.
• Drive cash flow management, including forecasting, monitoring burn, and optimising working capital.
• Partner with the leaders on cost optimisation initiatives, including vendor negotiations and spend reviews.
• Oversee salary processing and payroll, working closely with an outsourced payroll partner.
• Ensure statutory compliance across GST, PF, PT, including reviewing and validating work done by outsourced teams and ensuring timely filings.
• Own banking relationships, including account operations, documentation, and coordination with lenders or financial partners.
• Lead audit management — coordinating with a Big 4 audit firm during statutory, internal, and external audits.
• Act as a key stakeholder manager, working with internal teams, auditors, banks, investors, and external consultants.

What makes you a good fit

• 3–5 years of experience in core controllership, accounting, or finance operations.
• Strong hands-on experience managing AP, AR, cash flows, compliances, audits, and vendor payments end-to-end.
• Comfortable working with outsourced partners (accounting, GST, payroll) while owning final accountability.
• Excited about building the finance function 0→1 in a scaling SaaS startup.
• You enjoy being a generalist, getting into the weeds, and bringing structure to ambiguity.
• Experience with SaaS accounting or startup environments is a strong plus.

Salary and Location

Expected CTC: We pay top of market for the right folks and also offer generous equity (ESOP) to everyone in the team
