Job summary

The role partners with IT and Data teams to design AI-enabled workflows across reconciliations, reporting, forecasting, and master data processes.

The candidate will validate data, ensure model reliability, and oversee governance with a focus on explainability, controls, and compliant AI usage

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in economics or IT or related field.
• 5+ years FP&A, accounting, IT experience.
• Understanding of ERP systems, especially SAP FI/CO.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Job description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The role contributes to the advancement of AI capabilities within Finance by combining strong finance expertise with foundational knowledge of data, modelling, and governance. The incumbent acts as a bridge between Finance and IT by translating business requirements, including use cases and process models, into clear and actionable input for technical teams, while supporting the Head of Finance Data & Analytics Excellence with sound AI and IT-related expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Strategy, Use Cases & Business Case Development – Partner with Finance leadership to identify, assess, and prioritize AI opportunities. Support the development of business cases and translate business requirements into solution designs in collaboration with IT, Data & Analytics teams.
• AI Solution Design & Process Automation – Design and implement AI-enabled workflows, automation solutions, and AI agents that streamline finance activities such as reconciliations, variance analysis, financial reporting, planning, forecasting, document review, and master data processes.
• Data Preparation & Model Validation – Collaborate with functional experts to validate, cleanse, structure, and prepare datasets for AI solutions. Evaluate AI/ML models to ensure accuracy, stability, performance, explainability, and alignment with business requirements.
• AI Monitoring, Controls & Human Oversight – Support post-deployment monitoring of AI solutions, including failure analysis, anomaly detection, output validation, and continuous improvement. Ensure appropriate human oversight of AI-generated financial insights and recommendations.
• Prompt Engineering & User Enablement – Develop standardized prompts, templates, and best practices that enable Finance users to leverage Generative AI safely, effectively, and consistently across business processes.
• AI-Driven Analytics & Reporting – Integrate AI capabilities into reporting and analytics platforms such as SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and other BI tools to enhance financial insights, forecasting, and decision-making.
• Finance Process Transformation – Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and controls through AI-enabled process redesign, automation, and standardization across Finance functions.
• Risk, Governance & Compliance – Ensure AI solutions comply with financial controls, internal control systems (ICS), responsible AI principles, data privacy requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act). Support audit readiness and documentation requirements.
• Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership – Act as a trusted advisor to Finance stakeholders, facilitate workshops, communicate AI concepts to business audiences, and drive user adoption through training and change management activities.
• Project Management & PMO Support – Coordinate cross-functional AI initiatives, manage stakeholder communications, prepare project governance materials, facilitate project meetings, track deliverables, and support successful execution of Finance AI programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Advanced degree or studies in economics, information technology, or a related field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in FP&A, Accounting, IT, or related areas
• Solid understanding of Accounting and FP&A processes, as well as the broader finance operating model
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including key limitations such as hallucinations, bias, and training cutoffs
• Good understanding of process design, data analysis, and improvement techniques; business process management experience is an advantage
• Project management experience; PMP, Agile, or other project management certifications or training are an advantage
