Job summary

Diageo seeks a Senior Operator for packaging lines in its Pune manufacturing network. You will drive efficient bottling operations while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include implementing the production schedule, monitoring line output, and coordinating with maintenance to minimize downtime. BE/BTech in relevant field with 2–5 years FMCG experience and SAP data handling are required.

Qualifications

  • BE/BTech in mechanical, production, electrical, chemical or food tech.
  • 2–5 years in Alco-Bev/FMCG industry experience.
  • Knowledge of bottling operations and quality basics.
  • Capable of implementing production schedules and data entry in SAP.

  • Solves routine problems using existing procedures and guidelines
  • Has limited impact on own work team; works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • Exchanges basic information, asks questions and checks for understanding
Packaging Job Family Description:

Roles in this job family have skills and training in operating the bottling and packaging lines. They understand health and safety procedures, environmental protocols, quality standards, and able to identify if there are issues which need technical diagnosis and fixes with the machinery they use.

Qualification:

B.E/B. Tech Mechanical/ Production/ Electrical/ Chemical/ Food Tech Experience: 2 -5 years in Alco-Bev/ Beverage/ FMCG industry

Knowledge & skills:
  • Knowledge on production / bottling operations
  • Basic working Knowledge of Quality management
  • Knowledge of bottling operations preferred Production
  • Implement Production Schedule as per the plan
  • Achieve Order Execution & Annual Production Plan via resource optimization
  • Monitor line-wise production output
  • Report any production-related issues and take corrective actions
  • Ensure production activities such as packing, sealing, filling, machine operation etc. are smooth with product quality as per standards and on time production
  • Entering & Maintaining production data in SAP
  • Adherence to procedures w.r.t. safety, quality, environment& security standards of the Company
Resource & Materials Management :
  • Report resource capacity and need for allocation
  • Follow-up with material department for low stock items
  • Report status on materials efficiency
Productivity Management
  • Co-ordinate for production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules
  • Update and maintain production, maintenance and malfunction records
  • Implement recommend solutions to resolve identified problems to improve performance
  • Motion, method & time study to reduce manpower to the optimum
Continuous Improvement :
  • Implement corrective & preventive actions planned
  • Ensure production /material flow /housekeeping & conformance to Health & Safety & Environment standards, Quality Management as per plan
  • Participate in regular meetings, shop rounds to ensure compliance of factory rules/ standards set for Industrial safety, Environment System to meet Quality & business standards.
  • Co-ordinate with Maintenance executive as per plan (to reduce down time)
  • Engage, guide and train workmen to ensure production delivery is not impacted
  • Out of box idea to innovate or adopt methodology to reduce utility consumption
  • Conducting daily shopfloor tool box talks on safety, quality & productivity improvement
