A Senior Executive DCS (Distributed Control System) Officer in a chemical manufacturing plant manages and monitors complex chemical processes from a central control room to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous or batch operations.
Process Monitoring & Control: Supervise temperature, pressure, flow, and level indicators through the DCS interface to keep parameters within safe limits.
Operation Management: Handle complex continuous or batch chemical reactions, plant start-ups, safe shutdowns, and emergency responses.
Alarm Handling & Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to system alarms, analyse root causes of deviations, and execute corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Direct field operators and shift chemists for manual interventions, sampling, and equipment checks.
Compliance & Safety: Enforce EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), ISO norms, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Support HAZOP studies and safety audits.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate batch manufacturing records (BMR), log sheets, and daily production shift reports using systems like SAP.
Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry.
Experience: 5 to 8+ years of hands-on console/DCS operation experience in chemical, petrochemical, API, or specialty chemical plants.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with standard DCS platforms and enterprise tools like SAP.
