Job summary

EXL is seeking an experienced Medical Coder for multi-specialty surgery coding in Chennai. You will follow SOPs, complete audits with quality, and work toward quality and production targets while ensuring HIPAA and OIG compliance.

Ideal candidate has 3+ years in coding with IVR and general surgery, CPC/CPMA credentials, and strong written and verbal communication. 40-hour work week; broadband connectivity is required.

Qualifications

• Life science/Paramedical Degree
• CPC/CPMA
• Overall 3+ years experience in Multi-specialty surgery coding including IVR, General surgery
• Auditing and denial management experience (Optional)
• Strong written and oral communication

Responsibilities

• Follow every aspect of SOP without fail
• Complete received Audits with Quality
• To achieve Quality and production target
• Follow project related protocols and instructions
• Escalate issues, identify trends
• Update logs daily: productivity, Clarification log, etc.
• Check with Manager /TL for clarifications
• Respond promptly to emails from Manager
• Problem solving skill sets
• Ensure HIPAA/OIG compliance across the team

• Follow every aspect of SOP without fail
• Complete received Audits with Quality
• To achieve Quality and production target
• Follow project related protocols and instructions
• Escalate issues, identify trends...
• Update all the logs like productivity, Clarification log, and any other logs applicable on a daily basis.
• Check with Manager /TL in case of clarifications
• All emails from Manager should be answered promptly without fail
• Problem solving skill sets
• Ensure compliance of entire team for HIPAA,OIG
