HR Bloc Consulting is seeking an underwriter with up to 3 years of experience in Medical Underwriting, APS Summarization, or Life Insurance Quick Quotes. The role involves reviewing medical records and determining risk levels, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and training junior underwriters.

The candidate should have a doctor degree (excluding MBBS) and be prepared for a US shift. Strong medical knowledge and analytical thinking are essential to assess morbidity and mortality risk

Role & responsibilities

Experience of up to 3 years of Medical Underwriting, APS Summarization and/or Life Insurance Quick Quotes

• Ability to understand source document (e.g., APS, Electronic record, handwritten notes, Labs, etc.)
• Good medical knowledge to assess the morbidity and mortality risk from limited medical information
• Critical and analytical thinks skills for accurate decision making.

Evaluated insurance applications by reviewing medical records and determining eligibility and risk levels

Strong understanding of medical terms, conditions, and treatment protocol to accurately assess applications

Collaborated with healthcare professionals to clarify medical information and ensure comprehensive risk assessments

Implemented underwriting guidelines and best practices to streamline processes and improve accuracy

Conducted regular training sessions for junior underwriters on new policies and procedures

Preferred candidate profile
