Job summary

The role requires 8+ years in engineering project execution within pharma/biotech, strong leadership, and a track record of managing complex capital projects from inception to completion. Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in engineering project execution within pharma/biotech.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex capital projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of cGMP, FDA guidelines, ISPE, ASTM standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution phase of complex engineering projects from design through commissioning and qualification.
• Coordinate internal engineering teams, contractors and vendors for project objectives.
• Develop and implement detailed project execution plans with risk assessments and quality controls.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, cGMP and health, safety and environmental standards.
• Oversee procurement, installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
• Review engineering designs, specs and vendor documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare regular project status reports for senior management with milestones.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for project execution processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the execution phase of complex engineering projects from design finalization through commissioning and qualification, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.

• Develop and implement detailed project execution plans, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and quality control measures.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in engineering project execution within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing complex capital projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of cGMP regulations, FDA guidelines, and other relevant industry standards (e.g., ISPE, ASTM).
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP certification is a plus).
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various departments and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Experience with process equipment, utilities, HVAC systems, and automation in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
