Job summary

Volvo Group Bangalore Electromobility team is seeking a function developer to work on embedded system design and development for battery electric vehicle control and management. You will engage in cross-functional design, software implementation and verification across EV subsystems.

The role requires 8–12 years in SW development, expertise in Embedded C, Matlab/Simulink, CAN/LIN/UDS/J1939 and experience with XIL (SIL/MIL/HIL). Knowledge of Autosar and Jira/Git is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in modelling, simulation and programming in engineering software such as MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong embedded C development experience for automotive applications.
• Familiarity with CAN/LIN/UDS/J1939 and logging/fault handling in automotive domains.
• Experience with XIL (SIL/MIL/HIL) validation and AUTOSAR awareness is a plus.
• Knowledge of Jira and Git for version control and issue tracking.

In the Electromobility team, we work in a cross-functional way from system/function design, software implementation and verification of our features in customer end products.

What you will do

As a function developer you will be working over the whole span of activities of embedded system design and development in the domain of Battery Electric vehicle, focusing on control and Management of various systems and subsystems of an electricpowertrain.

Competence

• Experience in modelling, simulation and Programming in engineering software (Matlab, Simulink, targetlink, stateflow, m-scripting, python)
• 8-12 years of experience in SW development
• Experience in Embedded C and functional development.
• Knowledge in communication protocols eg: CAN, LIN, UDS, J1939
• Experience in Logging and Fault handling for different automotive applications and components.
• Experience in XIL (SIL, MIL and HIL development) for automotive area.
• Good to have Domain knowledge- EV Architecture / Powertrain Functionality, distributed embedded controls software architecture
• Good to have Knowledge of CAN analysis tools such as CANape, CANoe, CANAlyzer, etc.
• Good to have Overview of Autosar
• Good to have exposure in JIRA, GIT,
• Knowledge on sensors, actuators, automotive electric systems .
