Job summary

Hexad Infosoft is seeking a Senior ERPNext Developer to architect, customize, and maintain our ERPNext platform, leading the Odoo-to-ERPNext migration and owning the technical direction. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software development, strong Python/JavaScript/SQL skills, and hands-on ERPNext/Frappe experience, including data migration and API integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development, with at least 3 years in the Frappe Framework and ERPNext.
• Build custom apps, workflows, reports, and DocTypes in ERPNext.
• Strong Python, JavaScript, SQL, and REST APIs, plus Docker skills.
• Experience with Linux server administration, Git, automated backups, and troubleshooting.
• Data migration from Odoo/PostgreSQL into Frappe/MariaDB.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ERPNext Developer to architect, customize, and maintain our new enterprise resource planning system. A major initial component of this role involves leading the data migration from our legacy Odoo environment into ERPNext.

Beyond migration, you will be the technical owner of the platform. You will build highly customized modules and dynamic dashboards tailored to our specific business needs, rigorously test all deployments to ensure flawless functionality, and manage the underlying cloud infrastructure (DevOps) to guarantee high availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Bespoke Customization & Development: Design and develop tailored ERPNext/Frappe modules, custom DocTypes, and backend business logic (Python/JavaScript) that strictly align with our companys unique operational requirements.
• Custom Dashboards & Analytics: Build highly visual, real-time dashboards, custom reports, and workspaces using Frappe Charts and SQL/Jinja to provide actionable insights for different departments (Finance, HR, Sales, etc.).
• Odoo to ERPNext Migration: Architect and execute a secure ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) strategy to seamlessly migrate relational data, historical records, and file attachments from Odoo to ERPNext without data loss.
• Quality Assurance & System Stability: Write unit and integration tests for all custom code. Conduct rigorous QA and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) before pushing changes to production to ensure zero workflow disruptions.
• DevOps, CI/CD & Infrastructure Management:
  • Manage the deployment and hosting of the ERPNext instance on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) for automated testing and deployment.
  • Manage server architecture using Docker, Nginx, Redis, and supervisor.
  • Configure automated database backups, disaster recovery protocols, and server monitoring.
• Integrations & API Architecture: Build and maintain secure RESTful APIs and webhooks to connect ERPNext with third-party tools, legacy systems, and payment gateways.
• Security & Access Control: Implement strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), user permissions, and ensure data encryption and compliance with data security best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Development Experience: 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to the Frappe Framework and ERPNext.
• Frappe & ERPNext Expertise: Proven ability to build custom apps, workflows, reports, and DocTypes.
• Core Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, and REST APIs, alongside Docker containerization, HTML, CSS, and Jinja templating.
• Business Knowledge: Solid functional understanding of core ERP domains, specifically Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and Accounting.
• Deployment & Infrastructure: Strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration, Git version control, automated backups, and system troubleshooting.
• Database Mastery: Advanced SQL skills, particularly with MariaDB/MySQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Data Migration: Proven experience extracting and mapping complex datasets from existing ERPs (specifically Odoo/PostgreSQL) into Frappe/MariaDB.
• Version Control & CI/CD: Expertise in Git, branching strategies, and modern continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
• Problem Solving & QA Mindset: Ability to translate complex business needs into stable technical features, paired with a strict commitment to code quality and testing.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications

• Direct functional knowledge of both Odoo and ERPNext data structures.
• Experience integrating BI (Business Intelligence) tools (e.g., Metabase, PowerBI) with ERPNext for advanced analytics.
• Familiarity with Frappe Cloud hosting and management using AI.
