Job summary

Pure Storage, Inc. invites an experienced engineering leader to join the Bangalore team, driving the design and delivery of next-generation, scale-out all-flash file and object storage platforms.

You will own critical roadmaps end-to-end, mentoring top-tier talent and influencing core architecture while partnering with Product Management, System Validation, and Customer Support to achieve six-nines reliability for global customers.

Qualifications

• Deep platform development proficiency in Linux system programming and strong hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, Go, or Java.
• Mastery of object-oriented design, data structures, multi-threading, synchronization, and distributed systems architecture.
• Proven ability to make strategic architectural decisions for enterprise-grade availability and complex deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural evolution and end-to-end delivery of high-performance, resilient storage systems.
• Design and implement robust algorithms for modern data pipelines, AI infrastructure, and analytics workloads.
• Resolve complex multi-threaded and high-concurrency issues across Linux internals through root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with product management, validation, and support teams to align roadmaps and standards.
• Mentor engineers, lead architecture forums, and promote technical excellence and customer impact.

THE ROLE

Join the high-growth FlashBlade team as a foundational engineering leader building our next-generation, scale-out all-flash file and object storage platform. In this role, you will architect, design, and deliver high-performance distributed systems optimized for modern, data-intensive workloads like AI, log analytics, and cluster computing. You will own critical technological roadmaps end-to-end, directly influencing our core architecture while mentoring top-tier talent. Partnering closely with Product Management, System Validation, and Customer Support, your mission is to drive scalable innovation that redefines enterprise data storage and delivers six-nines reliability to our global customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Drive End-to-End System Architecture: Lead the architectural evolution and end-to-end delivery of high-performance, resilient storage systems from initial design concepts to high-quality shipped products.
• Optimize for Modern Data Workloads: Design and implement robust algorithms and concurrent platform solutions engineered for modern data pipelines, AI infrastructure, distributed computing, and enterprise analytics.
• Resolve Complex System Engineering Challenges: Apply deep root-cause analysis and system-level insight to solve multi-threaded, high-concurrency performance and reliability issues across Linux platform internals.
• Cross-Functional Ownership & Leadership: Collaborate across product management, validation, and support teams to align technical roadmaps, establish architectural standards, and drive enterprise product stability.
• Elevate Engineering Standards: Mentor high-performing engineering peers, spearhead architecture forums, and foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and customer-first impact.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Core Technical Expertise: Deep platform development proficiency in Linux system programming alongside strong hands-on expertise in C, C++, Python, Go, or Java.
• Advanced Systems Fundamentals: Mastery of object-oriented design, data structures, multi-threading, synchronization, concurrent programming, and distributed systems architecture.
• Domain & Production Insight: proven ability to make strategic architectural decisions, design for enterprise-grade high availability, and support complex production deployments.
• Collaborative Leadership & Communication: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of articulating complex system architectures, championing design proposals, and influencing key technical stakeholders.

Location

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bangalore office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
