Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineer, Test Automation based in India.

This is a senior-level quality engineering role focused on building and advancing scalable automated testing capabilities for regulated software platforms. You will take ownership of end-to-end test automation, with Playwright as a core technology across UI, API, and integration layers. The role combines hands‑on engineering with strong knowledge of software validation and regulated environments. You will work closely with product, engineering, and quality teams to embed testing throughout the development lifecycle. You will also explore AI‑assisted testing approaches to expand coverage, improve efficiency, and reduce repetitive work. This is an opportunity to influence quality engineering practices while contributing to reliable, compliant, and high‑impact technology solutions.

Accountabilities
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve scalable end‑to‑end test automation frameworks using Playwright across UI, API, and integration layers.
  • Develop and maintain release validation documentation, including materials supporting GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
  • Evaluate and implement AI‑assisted testing approaches, including LLM‑based test generation and intelligent failure analysis, to improve coverage and testing efficiency.
  • Integrate and maintain automated quality gates within CI/CD pipelines while balancing development speed with the rigor required in a regulated environment.
  • Partner with software engineers throughout active development to embed testing early, identify risks proactively, and support a quality‑first engineering culture.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and quality stakeholders to define effective testing strategies and continuously improve QA processes.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and best‑practice development across the engineering organization.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for colleagues by helping resolve testing challenges and improving the usability and reliability of test infrastructure.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, QA engineering, or a related discipline, with significant hands‑on experience in test automation.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Playwright and demonstrated experience developing reliable, scalable, and maintainable automation frameworks.
  • Practical experience with GxP validation practices, including contributing to or preparing traceability matrices and validation summary reports.
  • Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, GCP, or comparable regulatory frameworks governing software systems.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including the ability to understand production code, debug issues across the technology stack, and build robust testing infrastructure.
  • Experience integrating automated testing and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Interest in emerging AI technologies for software testing, with experience or willingness to explore LLM‑assisted test generation and intelligent failure analysis.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain testing strategies, quality risks, and technical tradeoffs to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across product, engineering, and quality teams while operating independently when required.
  • Willingness to work remotely within India and undertake occasional planned travel of less than 10%.
Benefits
  • Remote work opportunity within India.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and company‑paid holidays.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance plan options.
  • Opportunity to work on regulated software platforms where quality, reliability, and compliance are critical.
  • Exposure to emerging AI‑assisted testing technologies and modern automation practices.
  • Collaborative environment with cross‑functional product, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Opportunity to contribute to and influence quality engineering standards and testing strategies.
